jawfish

they would be fine. i have both in a 210g. just make sure to cover the tank until the blue spot digs a home. they cost to much to chance it.

Anyone have a good picture of a Randalls jawfish.

Not familiar with this fish my that name. Does it have another common name it is sold under?

i dont know much about him, just bought him as a randalls jawfish from my lfs, it was the first time theyd had one in...i like him very much, he has a lot of personality

sly fox,

Thanks for the pic. Very cool fish. I've been working with a LFS to get what they call a Red Jawfish or Chesnut Jawfish in. Might be a nother name for a Randalls. No luck in finding one yet though. Just as well, really don't have the space for a new fish right now.

Good luck with him, I love jawfish, especially ones that you don't see very often. I find that each species of jawfish seem to have their own quirks, which make them interesting to have.

Enjoy your find, I doubt that these are that common in the trade...

i'll get a full pic of him at some point.. i wouldnt be surprised if he is the same fish, as hes a reddy chestnut colour....

hes quite a character, hes not aggressive, only time he nipped a fish was when it sat on top of his burrow, hes a little nervous and shy and darts out of his hole at feeding time but likes to keep an eye on whats going on around... his burrow is about a foot from a pistol/goby homestead, and theres never any problems...
