JBJ 28 Gallon Nano Owners Club

Hello there guys,

I'm looking foward of buying this skimmers:
Tunze DOC 9002 internal PS

My system is a JBJ 28g nano-cube led.
I wonder if it will fit ok or i will have to do any adaptions. Any of you have this tank and this skimmer? Any other skimmer sugestion? Any advice?
Any help is welcome, i'm a noobie.

Thank you!

I use the sapphire skimmer very good.

I have a question, I just replaced the ballast for the JBJ Pc's, I went wire to wire now strange thing, when my timer is On lights go off, when timer is off lights go on this is for both the MH and Pc's

What will be wrong, please help.

Sounds obvious, but sounds like you flipped the wiring

I checked over the wiring and it looks right. I emailed nanotuners to see.

I'm confused

White wire to blue, black wire to brown, yellow wire to both greens, red wire to red wire

I figured it out, I had the plugs in the Night Side of my timer, lol

I think I finally got rid of the Aiptasia problem, crossing my fingers.

Whats the best critter to get rid of hair algae or at least keep it under control? I hate hermits though.

FS/FT NEW 18w actinic bulbs x2 (18W Blue 460nm/10000K (10K) White (50/50)):

Picked up some new actinics for my tank, but forgot to check the pinout. These are square and I need straight (doh!). My loss is your gain, I've got 2 new bulbs, just trying to find them a home instead of throwing them away. Give me $10 + shipping and they are yours.

Find these EXACT bulbs at Marine Depot for $16.99/each - Willing to negotiate if you have some colorful frags for swap and are local to West LA.

Cleaning the glass

Cleaning the glass

Get thread everyone...I have used scotch brite, scouring pads, Kent plastic blades and Kent metal blades, but I see some scratches in my glass. I get many spots of coralline, so maybe that has something to do with. Anyone else seeing many small scratches.

Thanks

Just wanted to throw my name on the list. Moving my 12 gallon contents over once the cycling completes:

And here's the new next to the old.

I just picked up a used NC28 for a zoo/frag tank. The back has 2 chambers, but the wall on one side of the tank has pulled away from the silicone. I'm going to try to reseal it, but judging by the way the first chamber is set up, I don't see how effective a drip tray is there. This setup also came with a tunze 9002.

How would you suggest i set up the filtration? I was thinking putting the skimmer in the first chamber for water level stability. The way the water flows to the second chamber doesn't make sense to me, as there's just some slits in the partition. This setup did not come with the stock media basket. Not sure what to do with the second chamber, since it's hard to fit anything in there with the stock return pump.

Thanks mr9iron. I don't think I will either :). Now if the cycling will just get over with- having 2 tanks in the corner is disrupting my wife's chi.

Anen, to be honest, I'm not sure I understand. In the stock version I think you'd call it 5 chambers- although the middle 3 are interconnected and the outer 2 are connected like a U. If things are pulling lose, I think I'd be tempted to just pull the whole false wall out- put an HOB skimmer and an aquaclear for media on the back and call it a day.

looking for a good/decent way to put a sump onto the back of the tank (JBJ 28 HQI), looks like overflows are a little big, so i guess drilling and putting bulkheads is the way?

Well I think I must have some pieces missing. All I have are two chambers... the partition between the chambers has some slits in it but there is no 5 chambers on my tank.

I just resealed the back, waiting for it to dry now... I'll check how the water flows when it dries.

How do you only have two chambers?

If it's two, then what is your media basket hanging on? two of the dividing sides are what keeps the media basket in place
