JBJ 28 Gallon Nano Owners Club

I use 2 part and have a mostly sps system. A reactor would be nice since I am having to dose on a daily bases and still having a hard time keeping up with it.If you forget one day then you have to play catch up. I'm running ZEO so my ALK needs to stay as steady as I can keep it.

I have a question I got back into the hobby with a 28cf after about 6 years.
has anybody ever put a sump in the stand that comes with the nano-cube?????

I haven't seen any pictures if some body has. Just finished an 11x15" sump that fits into the stand. Just big enough for a skimmer and return pump :)

Here's a pic of my tank.

I'm sure this question has been answered before but after two splits from when I started the original thread I don't want to go back and look. Does the stock ballast have any problems firing the radium?

I hvae an aqua c remora skimmer with maxi jet 1200 from an older tank. Would this be over kill?

No it would not be overkill. IME, the Remora is actually underpowered after being able to observe my WM H1 in action. I got decent results with the remora but am seeing quite a bit better performance with my new skimmer.

Here is a quick one minute video of my tank. The video comes from my G1 phone so the quality is not so great and the fact that you will have to lay sideways to watch the video. So here it is.

I got my rkl today, and I want to hook up my skimmer to it. I just dont know where to start with it hontesly. Would it be under outputs? I just want the skimmer to run a couple of hours per day..

I don't really know anything about the RKL other than I want one.

Ya it's pretty nice once you figure out all the menus and sub menus. Basically if you have something you want to come on and go off at a specific time just use the lighting feature.

I did a ballast upgrade on the HQI to a 175 Ice Cap and I run the DE 150 20k bulb and I love it my fans now turn on w/ my actinics... soooo nice... smaller ballast and better light...

let me know if any of you need help w/ this as I can walk you through it pretty easy... i might get a postin on here too... to help walk ya'll through it...

Here are a few pictures and videos of my 28 gallon Nano.

If you have an mp10 where are you placing it? They have a back to them so are you jus putting the magnet behind the false wall?

The dry side cannont get wet. The only place you can put an MP10 is on the front or side of the glass. Most people put them in the middle of one of the sides of the tank.

I am picking up a float switch valve soon for the tank, and I am wondering where you are placing it? I keep the water level in the back chambers almost filled up. Would I need to lower the water level? I run the powerheads on the wavemaker as well.... where would I place the float valves? Havent ran the tank without the back filled up, so I am not sure where exactly the water drops the most etc. I am hooking up a pretty strong fan to blow across the back chambers and am expecting increased evaporation and lower temps...... how is this working for anyone whose doing it?

I would place it either in the far right or left chambers. Either of my chambers are only about half full.

On a side note, I pick up Penelope, our Helfrichi Firefish tomorrow.
