Jbj 45 rimless explosion

Well my tank busted tonight. I was actually sitting on the couch watching the fish when it popped and water was everywhere. It is crazy how fast things go bad in this hobby but I guess my gha problem is solved now.

My wife is more concerned than I am as far as the water is concerned. I was able to throw a garbage can under it and grab the shop vac, so I think I got most of it. I got the tank in a trade but it was in the original box so we shall see what JBJ says.

I went through the same thing with my 55. It sucks. I was lucky my 30g refugium was totally empty and I was able to just scramble to get everyone down there.

From now on any tank I have Ill always have a empty backup holding tank plumbed into the system that I can throw stuff in should something like this ever happen again.

It was on the right side along the curved edge. This is where I have seen most of them crack in photos online. The bad thing is there was no warning, just a loud pop and the water spilled out. It was not a slow leak, it cracked down the entire side.
