What pump is best to us with this system?

Maybe a MaxiJet of some sort?

Maxi-Jets do fine. I have mine on rio pump leftover from a media reactor.

All you need to consider is the size of your resevoir container and the distance the pump needs to pump.

I really like the Aqualifter, since it is a slow flow it doesnt just dump a ton of water in sump all at once but slowly adds it so it has time to mix before it hits the display. But they have a 30" head height restriction so if you need it to pump up higher than that you will have to look at something else.

I think I'll go with the lowest power Maxi, my LFS has them.

I use a maxijet 1200. My topoff water is 11' away and 4' uphill.
