jbj dx 12 pump question

I think is a macro jet pumping about 117gph that powering everyithing. Has anyone tried replacing the pump with a higher powered rio and will it fit. just by judgement i think we have 2.5 inchs in that 3rd compartment front to back.

any of the maxijet pumps fit perfectly in the 3rd chamber and on the return line. I am using the maxijet 900 that is rated at 230 GPH, but you could even use the 1200 that is rated at 295 GPH. the 1200 does use quite a bit more power, but if heat isnt an issue in your tank, then go for it.
