JBJ Nano Cube DX pump question

I just bought a used 12gal JBJ Nano Cube Dx today but it did not come with a pump. I have a Rio 600 that puts out about 200gph, would that be too much for the return pump? Thanks for any advice!!

no thats not to much but rio's are natorious for melting or doing somthing that will completely take out a tank so i would go out and buy a maxijet 600-1200 and leave it at that

my defalt pump in my dx rusted out killing everything so went to a maxi jet 1200 and im just starting to re stock

I have a maxijett 1200 in my tank now but I am upgrading this week to a new Rio 6HF. 55 more gph and 5 fewer watts.

The MJ1200 will heat up the water (runs at 20 watts) but anything less than 300gph isnt enough IMO.

I split my output with locline as well.
