JBJ Nanocube vs. AquaPod 12g

I'm interested in setting up a 12g nano tank and am looking at either a JBJ Deluxe Nanocube or an Aquapod.

Does anyone have any feedback on either of these two set-ups?

Specs that I have located:
JBJ - 12 gallon glass, 2x24W CF and LED lighting, 106GPH flowrate, cooling fans and built-in 3 stage filtration
Aquapod - 12 gallon glass, 2x27W "SunPaq Lamps" and LED lighting, 160GPH flowrate, cooling fans, integrated filtration system.

I am "downgrading" to a 12 gallon from my 36 as I'm moving to a smaller location. I want mainly an invertebrate tank with a coral or two and a fish.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have aquapod and I have seen the jbj and me personally I like the aquapod better. My main thing was because of looks, I thought the jbj looked cheaper. Just my opinon though.

There are pros and cons for both.

From what I have heard from talking to people at my LFS's the NanoCubes have had some issues with customer service as well as some defects (One LFS who is a JBJ Dealer for their lights told me they won't sell the Nano cubes cause they had a 12 Gallon actually burst on them, Now this is what they tell me, so I always take it with a grain of Salt (pardon the pun :) ) .

As for the Aquapod, they too have issues, the 12gallon pods were recently recalled due to a wiring issue (If you unplugged one cord, the prongs on that cord would still be energized and you could get shocked. This issue has been fixed in the new pods however.

When it came time for me to purchase, I opted for the 24 gallon Aquapod. I based my decision on a few things, I felt the construction on the pod "Felt" better (Just my opinion however)

But that's not to say it was ALL easy peasy. there were a few issues...

1) The instructions that come with the Aquapod said to remove the light shield and remove a "Cover" from the light socket that is used in shipping. well mine didn't have that cover. NO biggie however.

2) The light bulbs were in the wrong sockets (Actininc was in the daylight etc...Not a big deal, but shows some QC issues)

3) One of the bulbs was bad. However the dealer replaced it for me no questions asked

4) The Tank absolutly REEKED of silicone when I got it, From what the store told me, they seal it up then close the lids while the silicone is still wet (Doesn't make sense to me..wouldn't they want to leak test em first?) but it wasnt a big deal, a quick rinse and all was well

So which one to get? They are about the same, but the higher flow rates in teh pod would be nice if you are keeping things that need it...

Just get whichever is cheaper and "Feels" right to you :)

Hope this helps
