JBJ Orion SL Leds

I cannot find too much info about the LED's themselves other than they are CREE. I'm curious to know at what wattage they are being run. From suggestions here I've found that the typical 3w LED should be run at just under 3w for optimum performance. Several fixtures that folks want to avoid are running 3w LEDs at 1w or even less.

Ron Reefman would be my go to for LED lighting questions.

It doesn't appear to be all that different from a Viparspectra fixture or OceanRevive fixture other than better led brands (for what that's worth) and a slightly better looking case. But it's also twice the price. If you want the Cree leds and you really like the look of the case, spend the $120 and go for it.

On the other hand, I've used several JBJ products over the years and they have all been good quality. But I don't even know anybody who has a JBJ led fixture.

If you haven't looked already, spend $100 more and get a Reef Breeders Photon v2. Extremely slim case (1"), Cree and OSRAM leds (some 5 watt and some 3 watt). And it has sunrise/sunset/moonlights control (none of the above do) and it has 6 channels of color control, not just 2. If you like having control, or like playing with the light, IMHO it's well worth the extra $100.
