JBJ ... You have failed me. Horrible CS.

Well, crossing JBJ off my list ... We have been using their ATO for years and I am planning to move it over to our daughters new tank and asked them if I could purchase new brackets for the float switch - fairly simple request if you ask me.

They replied that in order to get new brackets, I would need to buy a whole new unit and they suggested using the new and keeping the old as a backup.

Unreal

Without looking at a picture, would you be able to make some yourself? Ive used some scrap pieces of plastic and a little heat to bend some myself for my ATO mechanical float valve.

That's the plan moving forward ... With a few zip ties along the way

I don't understand why this is so terrible. Many aquarium products have no parts support. Heck, they actually answered your query, which these days seems like an above average performance for customer support on an $80 hobby item.

Because it's a bracket that isn't integral to any other piece of the unit. If you can sell the whole unit and the float ... Why not a $5 bracket instead of telling a customer to buy an $80 unit

Agree! Funny how we start accept substandard customer care. Anyway, making them might be ok or looking online for someone selling an old or getting out or the hobby by chance.

I agree. They don't sell what you want and offered the only way they knew to get the part in question. It's not like they were rude, or refused to honor a warranty; they simply don't sell what you want.

They don't sell parts separately, because they don't "have them made" separately. JBJ doesn't make everything they sell, they have others do it for them. They don't have brackets for sale because they only have enough for the ATO's they have in stock. If they take one from a unit they have, they can't sell it.
