JCole's box of rocks

I'm surprised you didn't throw and Euroquatics on there to play with it.

I thought about it but I had a new Nicrew laying around and had it on the 20 already before ordering the Euroquatics. In the next week or so I should be ready to start the canopy and installing those lights.

How is your lights doing? Did you ever figure out why it went into storm mode again?

Lights are good, I did order 2 Populargrow blues for the upgrade to add more PAR and some blue. I have storm mode set in the program so, it's my choice and I'm leaving it that way. Interestingly, the other night, I woke in the middle of the night and went to check on the tank and it was in storm mode in the middle of the night.

I was worried about spread and shadowing. I have a 6 bulb 80w T5 setup I made for my 150 in the past. I am thinking of using that with the leds. 3 T5s in the front, Euros down the middle and 3 T5s in the back.

Sounds like a good plan (y)

You are going to have 600 par. Fine for MH but deadly for LEDs You will end up running those lights at 50%.

Working on plumbing under the stand tonight. After plumbing, then I will focus on building the canopy and skinning the bottom of the stand. The goal is to have the tank look like it was framed into the wall. Aquascape after that. Still a lot of work to do but it is getting there.

Started and finished plumbing into the garage over the weekend. I am making a trickle filter/cryptic fuge out of a 55 gallon drum that will drain into my refugium sump. Once finished, then I just need to connect that up to the plumbing and then the plumbing should be complete.

I am getting too old for under the stand plumbing!

I think my wife thought perhaps I was a sailor judging by the choice words coming out of my mouth 2 weeks ago when I was plumbing the new system. Actually, it was running the electrical that probably got me fired up even more lol. I'm too thick and short armed for some spaces. When we had a boat my mechanic was about 5'9 or 5'10 and a solid 50lbs smaller than me, I bet 140lbs soaking wet. that dude was literally designed to fit into an engine bilge, lol. I'm built more to push a car then get into the engine compartment.

Yeah it was a door shut kinda day! :ROFLMAO:

I am looking to build a light rack inside my canopy and would like to put it on a track that would allow me to pull the rack out of the canopy to change bulbs, etc.

Anyone have any ideas for something like this?

I’ve used the channel/rollers used for pocket/closet doors for my overhead light racks

I did it with drawer slides a long time ago. They work well assuming you want horizontal movement. You can get ones rated for 100's of lbs. It was these style ones.

I never had any rust on them. I'm pretty sure they were stainless steel but I also don't think mine were very exposed as they were between two layers of wood. I had them on their side (flat) as well to use less space. They worked fine but had a little droop after a while in that orientation.
