I have been very happy with the PP series from Jebao..
But their "wireless syncing" does not work properly..
I just set it up the other day and within 20 minutes they are out of sync.. Now that could just be a random problem with mine and not typical..

But 2 x Jebao PP8 would work great in your tank..

Hydors are always good.. They just work..
Not that I would ever put them on a wave controller as they are not meant to be controlled like that no matter what they say..

Jebao's are good, especially for the price. Sometimes you may get a faulty one here or there, but overall they are fine. If you have the money to spend I would recommend the Ecotech's though. Will cost you and arm and a leg up front, but IMO worth it in the long run.

I Like jaebo because of the price point. I run an mp10 on one end for the higher end options like lagoon mode and what not. but on the otherside i run the jaebow rw-4, i like this series because you can rotate the head in a lot of different positions.

I use both the mp10 and a jebao. Bought the most used and it is great, but so is the jebao. Between jebao and hydro I would go with the jebao.more options with the jebao

Would you mind explaining why Ecotech is worth it in a long run?

I can only speak of my experience with my pumps, but with that being said:

1. Reliability of the units. Jebao might work great for 6 months, but mine started acting up and quitting after about that time. Had to buy new replacements because I couldn't find parts. If you buy 2 or 3 cheaper units, why not just spend the same amount of money up front on a better unit that will last? I have yet to have any issues with a Vortech powerhead.

2. Flexibility / Expansion Options. Want to expand to a bigger tank? You can hook up another Vortech pump to your existing setup and have them communicate seamlessly. Everything I have heard of Jebao's wireless communication is that it is shotty at best.

3. Number of flow modes. The number of different modes that can be run on the Vortech is amazing. Doing a water change? Run on Nutrient Transport Mode to kick up detritus. Have soft corals that like mediocre continuous flow? Turn on lagoon mode. Have SPS that like random strong flow? Turn on Reef Crest mode. All modes can have a maximum speed programmed in to customize your flow options to your specific tank.

4. Customer service. I have had excellent customer service from them if I had any questions. Some opinions vary, but I can only comment on my experiences.

This is not to say that the Koralia or Jebao pumps won't service your needs. I have had Koralia's and Jebao pumps in the past and seemed to work fine for awhile, but I always ended up replacing them. I made the decision to go with top quality equipment for my new tank, and can see (at least in part) why they are more expensive. If your budget can incorporate the Vortech pump, then get the Vortech pump, if it cannot, then get the Jebao.

i have 8 koralia 2 pumps and none has ever failed to work. i cleaned two of them that are in a rufugium tank a week ago that i know have never been touched for a few years..

there are also other good pumps out there. If you want something to just work i would say avoid cheap brands

Both are garbage. Seen so many bad reviews on both, and then there's my own personal experience. Might as well get a few Maxi Jet 1200s and throw them on there. It's all about Laminar flow. Ecotech are much much better when it comes to spread and controllability. Only recently I found MaxSpect Gyre a step up from.even Ecotech though. It's about creating the best water movement and nest currents.

the big issues people have with koralea pumps are if they use the controller..

I have a few old Koralia's that won't die. They are not controllable though. I cleaned them once in the Last 5 or 6 years and that was recently. I bought a Jabao cp40 and the thing died in three months. The worst $100 i've ever spent.
