Jebao PP-8 Wavemaker ?

I've been running one for a year with no issues. I do clean it once a month to keep up the maintenance. I think with most aquarium equipment that sits and saltwater maintenance is the key.

I was a huge fan of my RW8s. They ran my 40B for nearly 2 years before I gave the set to a friend; they're running his 55 nicely now as well. I cleaned them maybe once every 2-3 months.

IME, they have to be cleaned at least once a month to get long term use out of it. If you are not dedicated to do that, I would recommend not getting it. I have had 2 and the first one I was lazy and did not clean and it stop working after 2 months. The 2nd I clean once a month and it's still working, going on 9 months now.

I have an older RW in my fuge now and havent cleaned it in well over a year but it just keep cranking away.

The PP8s in my tank get cleaned every 6 months along with every other powerhead and pump I have. My basement turns into vinegar pump town as I fill up big tubs with vinegar and let the pumps go to town for an hour or so.

I've had great luck with the PP series so far..
But they are very POWERFUL.. I have 2 x PP-8 on my 40b tank on as low as they can go..
(but I also have some fine sand) I wish I would have gone with 2 x PP4 instead

With a pair of Hydors I figured one PP-8 would suffice on a 90 with a moderate setting.

I think the 8's would be good for a 90 gallon. I wouldn't put anything bigger on a 4' tank. I had a pp 15 on my 5' 150 gallon & I had to keep it tuned down a good bit.
I have two 4's on my 40 breeder & they are perfect for me. I had 1- pp8 & 1- pp4 on it and I switched out the 8 for another 4 so I could use else mode. I like to run them in else mode but if u oversize them u can't use that mode because it will be to strong. No matter where u have the power set it will ramp up from low to high so the power doesn't control them in else mode

thinking about getting the large models for a 300. Do they hold on 1 inch walls? thanks!

The magnet mount is strong. I see no reason why it wouldn't hold secure on 1" thick glass. Purchase from a reputable place where you can return should you have an issue.

I am planning to buy 2 PP8s on a 48' reef tank. Total volume 100 gallon. Should I stick with 2 PP8s or 2 PP15s would be better.
Input appreciated!
