Jebao WP25 Information

For the longest time it thought my wp25s we remaking whistling noise almost threw them out was driving me nuts but turned out to be my durso stand pipe had small restriction in air inlet cleaned it out noise was gone. Both pump are dead quite run boths pumps in w1

so far this pump is a nuisance. noticed again the flow was really reduced. again took it out to examine and there was really nothing there to clog the stupid thing. regardless, rinsed it out and now has full power back. we'll see how long that last for.
another think how low in the water does this thing have to be to eliminate the random annoying vortex?

My 40's are only 8" from the top of my 120 24" tall tank. At 100% I dont get and vortex. When I had 25's, never had the issue either. How close are yours to the surface and at what speed are they at?

Every month I clean the propeller to get the flow back that I need. I have noticed though, for some reason, during feeding my pumps cut back a lot. Not sure why...

I have my WP10's about 5" from the surface, no vortex here. Any higher and it happens.
When I had WP25's I had them about 6" from the surface to avoid the vortex.

probably about 4" from surface.. dont seem to have to worry about that now as the power seems to be diminished permanently. before it would ramdomly have power and then diminish, now it seems to be crap. the positives, no more vortex and humming sounds.. just a low powered pos.

when I removed it today to check it out there was nothing blocking flow or impeding the impeller.
cleaned in vinegar anyway. its running full power once again. see how long it lasts for.
im just not understanding why exactly this thing loses power like it does.

I run mine in vinegar monthly. I have a 1 gallon bucket I fill halfway with vinegar and rodi ( about a 70/30 mix). Put pump in feed mode. Pop out of holder and plop in bucket next to tank and turn it back on. I let it run about 5-10 minutes and return it to the tank. This is all it seems to need to restore full power, I don't know why.. Slime build up and motor can't overcome the additional friction? Anyhow its not a big deal for me, I just make it part of maintenance but could see it being frustrating..

A quick clean of the propeller with a toothbrush does the trick for me. Wipe it down and screw the case back on with several mins left of the feed mode.

yeah I guess if the pump wasn't so much of a pain for me to get to I could clean it daily.
i have an enclosed canopy and the cord is on top of my light panel tucked out of the way.
but who the hell would want to do that anyway.

Using a wp25 on a 40 gel breeder
If I set it to top flow, get crazy flow, cant hold down sand
Played around with it, wanted more of a wave action...
Set at w1 s2
fine tuned the quick on-off action...
Presto, a beautiful wave with about an inch of rise and fall!
Sand stable
These units are great!

I want to pick up a second wp25. I bought the first through fish street a long time ago and am wondering whats the best faster ship option? Took two weeks from china. Any current recommendations? thanks!

Fish-Street has has a warehouse in New Jersey since the beginning of the year.

Buy from them and choose the NJ shipping.

Or go through reefbreeders.

Thanks guys.

I should chime in on cleaning and power loss since ive been running one for 8 months or so now.

I clean mine every 2-3 months and notice a return to full power after doing so. I think slime build up on the magnet creates drag and slows it down. I also have algae growing on the intake side which I think cuts the flow.

Other than that, I've been happy enough with it for the price to pick up a second!
