Jebao WP25 Information

That kind of stinks if you can't use S3 in else mode though. I have a 40 breeder and I was hoping to use else at 50%. Looks like I'll have to use W1 as I'm sure 100% else will be way too much for my size tank.

Yeah it looks like the speed control is not what we all envisioned it would be. :(
I wish Jebao would have consulted with some of the users, but they just wanted to get the pump done and in the stores.

from the sounds of it the speed control only works with the mode that hardly anyone uses lol. actually glad I ordered the led dimmers now.

i think they would have been better off just having the controller have a sperate dial that would adjust the speed rather than a mode button. either way I am still happy with the pumps so far.

Is everyone having luck with the dimmers? I thought I had read a while back that the WP25's were having trouble with the dimmers if you tried to go below around 65%.

I will hook a meter up to the unit tonight and do a true test to see if S1 S2 S3 work in other modes. From what I can tell even though the light is on the flow does not look nor feel stronger.

my dimmers work fine, hard to tell at what % i can turn mine down to befor the pump turns off but I am guessing around 50% so 65% could be an accurate measure.

With the head being able to rotate 360 degrees you should have no problem finding a place to mount pump and bounce around off glass for good flow l.

I asked Eric about the speed control on the new 1F controller and he said it only works on W1 mode and that I'm better off with the voltage adjustable power supply since lower voltage can be used with all modes rather than just W1.

This sucks! Why would they only allow speed control on W1 mode? Everyone uses else mode. They should have just stuck with the old controller because this controller will have no more functionality than the old one for 90% of the wp25 owners.

Everyone seems to be mad about the S setting for no reason the pump is designed for 30-75 gallon tanks. If you have a tank this size there is no reason for those setting in else mode.

I agree. Else mode is a random mode from low (~700gph) to high (~2100gph). It probably stays in high for just a few seconds. Most people don't need to dial down on Else mode unless you have a very small tank.

I haven't even tried it yet. Mine is still shipping but I was under the impression that in a 3' long tank when it hit 100% it would start waves big enough to slosh water out of my aquarium. Good news if this isn't the case as I'm sure my SPS would love the increases flow.

Either way, I've ordered and LED dimmer just in case. Can't go wrong for $6.

Waves are only made in w1 which you can control size and overall flow

Not everyone is going to need the same exact flow. Even if you have a 30-75 gal. tank you may have fine sand, delicate corals, or a number of different circumstances that would make speed control a valuable addition to this pump.
I just don't understand WHY they would go through the trouble of making a new controller and only allow speed control on the W1 mode.
