Pump is quite, flow is good for what your paying for.
Anyone on a budget or just getting into the hobby that really can't pay premium prices high end products.

Reminds me of Norman Rockwells, Cousin Reginald series.

I run my WP25 on my 65 on W2 I switch back between s2 and s3 usually and the knob is dialed so the waves are the longest they can be. All the way to the right I think.

Is there a way to dial back night mode?? As it is right now night mode whips my tank harder than my day setting does. I just took the sensor out this morning because of it.

No. Not with the stock controller.

I run my WP25's in Else mode. I had a 12 hour power outage over the weekend, and when my pumps came back on, they were both in High mode. I've had short power outages before (and have also unplugged them and plugged them back in numerous times) and have never had a problem with the mode switching on me. I just tested them again by unplugging them for a minute or two, and then plugging them back in, and they remained in Else mode as they should. Weird.

Not true, people have posted and it's in the "manual" that the knob only affects the frequency between on and off in wave mode .

The knob changes also the frequency in the else mode, not the intensity. Still random mode but changes the speed it goes trough these "random" modes. for example clockwise ramps up-down change slow, countercolckwise ramps up-down change faster.

I have an Apex does that help??? I don't want to rewire anything though I'm useless with that stuff.

I don't know how intricately you can program the Apex, but I would think you could set something up to run at 20% between 11pm and 7am or whatever speed and hours you wanted.

Hi all, I picked up my wp25 last week (ordered off ebay for $80), wanted to try it to replace my mp40 as the tank is in the living room and want noise as low as possible.

Wow, does this put out the flow, my LPS on the sand bed are not happy. Very nice pump, now just need to buy that controller thing on ebay so I can reduce the flow in ELSE mode. This is a 100g (48inch long).

I purchased two WP25s to use in a 220 FOWLR. I know WP25 are prob a bit small for a 6ft tank but I don't like how bulky the WP40 is and I figured I would try these out and mod them to use with my Apex. It's not like I have SPS in this tank and I do have fine sand for fish to bury themselves in so I don't want to blow that everywhere. I am thinking I will put one on each side of the back glass angled toward the center. I don't like anything on the side glass, I try to keep that unobstructed for viewing fish. I figured it was worth a try, I really like the size of the WP25.

Let me know if you like them when they arrive. I have also a 6 ft tank and have a WP-40 in the back corner angeled and i really love it. Was thinking to get another one and dial it down but i also have a Sea Swirl and i think will be to much. How you said, the WP-40 are bulky in the sides that's why i put mine in the back corner.

Actually in the back corner they doesn't look bulky. You can see a video that i posted for reference...http://youtu.be/0hre4cWCxok

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these the other day. Now, after reading some of the later posts, sounds like people are having issues with the controller. The knob or dimmer needs to be on full blast or it isn't working properly. Lights are blinking that shouldn't be blinking, the pump is not providing the proper wave pattern because of this. Am I understanding this right?

I wouldn't say that. In fact I would say the majority of people have been really pleased with the wp25. No one can really speak to its reliability long term yet but in the short term most people have not had issues. There will always be a few problems even with the high end pumps.

The only two complaints that I've seen regularly is that it is not as wide of a flow as the wp40 and the new controller can't dial down the power on the pump in any mode besides w1 mode. When you use something like an led dimmer instead, you experience problems when you get below about 50% power but that is because we are asking the pump to do something it wasn't designed to do.

As to losing its settings after an extended power outage, that kind of stinks but I can live with it. Overall I've been very pleased with mine. I could never afford a high end Tunze and this gives me similar performance at a very affordable price.

There are very limited issues I bought two even before they had actual specs.
If you are worries about issue just buy from fish-street they will fix an issue.
