Jebao WP25 Information

What I noticed so far with my wp20 is that they lose strength quickly if not kept clean. Seems faster than previous powerheads that I have owned in the past. Soon as it is clean, the power returns.

Same here, the difference is extreme between dirty and clean. Probably loses 80% of its power when dirty.
 
I have a WP40 on the left further to the back.. It is on a voltage regulator at 12v.. I also have a WP25 on the right up closer to the front of the tank.. I run both on else mode and at the lowest speeds.. It's more than enough water movement in my 5ft long 100 gallon tank.. There is no noise and couldn't be happier with these pumps.. I sold my MP10 I had laying around and pitched in another $16 for both of these pumps and it included the regulator..
 
here is a jebao wp25 on my 54 gallon corner tank. my son pops in at the end lol. the pump leaves on small dead spot underneath it which isn't so bad. im thinking about countering it with another wp25 in wave mode to help hit the dead spot. i find that wave mode doesn't really circulate water like the other modes do but just moves it to make waves. anyways here it is

how often is everyone cleaning their pumps to keep the flow at their best?

I have had mine running for around 3 months or so and have noticed the flow getting lower lately as the water movement on the top was barely moving, took out the pumps and gave them a nice cleaning and bang, back to new. high flow water movement.

when I took the pump out to clean it there was coraline algae on the outside but on the inside it was more like a slime algae buildup that I am guessing was the cause of it slowing down. after a good vineger/water bath the pumps run like new again though.

I was just so used to my tunze's running for a year before needing cleaned I never thought about these lol.

+1 on this one I thought it was my controller I took it apart and just rub it off and all power came back. Interesting why it would do that ?
 
Mine was slimed up pretty well. If i hadn't found out about that being a cause for reduced performance, i was going to complain to the seller :thumbsup:
