Jebao WP60

I don't have that answer yet as I haven't really tried to think the whole thing through as to what you get and what you need yet. lol I would like to get a little more input from guys on here that have them.---Rick

No problem, I handle them like radioactive waste...

After my wife had one fly out of her hand and hit the stand I took a lot more caution with them ;-)

I ordered the magnets, thanks for the heads up I'll watch my fingers and will let everyone know how they work!!!

So apparently in trying to decipher communications with fishstreet I have found that you can indeed use the power supplies that come with the wp60s on the twin controller.

Has anyone here done so?

Hey 88,...have you decided which way your going to buy? All from China or part US and some China? Just curious,---Rick

Hey Rick. I was thinking of buying everything through fishstreet. They have the Wp60s in the nj location. So I was going to place two septet ate orders so not to confuse things. The pumps would mail from nj and the controller from china.

Do u know of better US sources?

i have 1-wp60 that i just purchased to add some extra flow to my 96x30x25. i use the wp60 to make a wave, it makes at least a 2" wave at 100% and fast pulse.

then i use 2-mp40's and 1 -mp60 to create random flow controlled with apex fusion.

i have to say to it has a lot of power. not quite as much the mp60 but close.

@marty9876 - I'm using a laminar gyre on my 300 DD (3 WP40 and 1 WP60); I'd recommend trying placing your WP60s two to an end, about 2/3rds of the way up from the bottom, at the 1/3 and 2/3 points. Try running them in alternating opposing patterns for about an hour each side, full constant speed. I'm using a Hydor wavemaker to control these.

This approach gets the entire aquarium volume moving in a gyre, lifting detritus up from the bottom and bringing it up to the top for removal. This also moves a substantial amount of water through the rock structure (I have a median reef, not a back wall, but this should work in pretty much any formation). Take a peek at the most recent issue of Coral magazine - they have a pretty good write up on flow and the reef aquarium, and provide much more detail than I have here.

These are turning out to be great, powerful, and quiet water movers.

I think FS is the best source. I have been following all the WP threads from their beginnings. Seems that FS is fantastic on warranty and customer service.---Rick

rgulrich,...thanks for the info, You suggested placing the 60's on one end of the tank 2/3 of the way up. Do you direct the water straight forward or face them a few degrees down? I'm going to add your info to my WP word file. Thanks---Rick

You can always get them individually and add the twins controller. If you don't like it you can fall back to the regular controllers. As the controller is pretty cheap.

But I think you will prefer the twins. I am planning to try the twins. I have two individual pumps now, as I got them before the twins. Like the idea of them working in tandem as well as only using 1 outlet for two pumps!

I am currently using 3 EB's 8's plus a few regular wall outlets on my system so consolidation would be nice.

I just ordered a 40 from the NJ warehouse. I'm going to open it up to see what's involved in controlling it with my Jarduino. Most everything over water is DC powered. I control all my lights, feeders, pumps, ect. through Jarduino and relays, so only PS cord for the 36v power supply running the whole thing. I delete all the 110v sides of devices.

@007Bond - I try to direct them straight forward. With the 40's it's pretty easy, the 60 tends to kick up some pretty good surface turbulence, so I'd lean on a few degrees downward flow unless you don't mind getting a few surface waves and your cross braces wet.

Anyone on this thread that has a wp-60 had any issues with theirs?

I had a power supply burn out, but might have got wet...

Fish Street shipped me a new one.

Otherwise rock solid... I just wish night mode would work in pitch dark :(

Edit: Just bought GL5516 sensors on eBay for my 25s, 40s, and 60s. They are supposed to work in zero light and make night mode work. Guess we'll see :)

My 60 started making loud noises last night so I pulled the cord to turn it off. I'll remove and check later today.

Did your pumps not come with the sensors? Mine did and order an extra which I can't find. :hmm5:
