Jebo lighting

I might be buying a jebo light fixture that is 220 watts in total. This will be for a 55 gallon standard tank. The question is what kind of stuff will i be able to keep. I would like to keep bta's, hammers, frogspawns, torch coral's, ricordia's, etc. I would like to know whether or not i will be able to keep these things and would it be in my best interest to just upgrade to a better light fixture, like say maybe t5's?
Please let me know kind of fast so i can get the stuff i need and get it moving along. Thank you.

I got those same lights for my 75g about 3 years ago when they first came out. Seemed like a bargain for sure,, I kept Montis & LPS without any problem,,, a small BTA clone did not survive more than a couple of months. When I added the 175w halides, the increase in growth and coloration of everything was amazing.

I still use the Jebos for actinic supplementation,,, the build-quality is crap, so are the bulbs that come with it,,,but for $80 I wasn't complaining. It was a bit of a false economy though, as I had to replace the stock bulbs with coralife's within a couple of months,,, I could have bought halides for the same amount of money I spent on the Jebos & replacement bulbs.

If I could do it all over again, I'd go with 250w Halides and a single actinic VHO.

My advice, FWIW, is to get those halides & a VHO now,, or maybe an assload of T5's ,,,, skip the whole PC thing.

i have a buddy who has the 256 watt pc setup on his 55 and has had great success with the jebo. keeping all kinds of corals

I don't know about the Jebo fixture specifically, but I have kept everything except acropora in my 55 gal w/ 4-65 watt PCs over the top. In the case of my pink pocillopora and orange monti cap, the colors in my tank were better than frags I sent to live in MH tanks. BTAs can live a long wonderful life a 55 gal with 4-65 watt PCs. Hammers and frogspawns will do fine.
Forget trying to keep any colored acropora from turning brown though.

VHO is not all that efficient on PAR and gives off A LOT of heat. VHO bulbs also don't last as long as T5's. Halides don't penetrate any deeper than any other light. The reason they typically provide more intensity at the sandbed is they start out much more intense. a 4x54 watt Ice Cap T5 setup will put more light to the sand than most 250 watt halides. The only reason halides penetrate deeper is because you can just get 400 (or 1000!)watts into a smaller area...where it takes a T5 setup a full 1.5'x4' area to do that much. Other than that though the T5s should penetrate deeper from a PAR/penetration/watt standpoint.I have have a T5 setup and had a PC setup. If it was me I would go with the T-5. The bulbs last longer and put out less heat. With good reflectors you can do pretty much anything you want with them as well.

Would i be able to keep a red and blue carpet together, w/o any problems. I think it would be cool to have a red carpet, the whitest sand, and a blue carpet to dominate the tank red, white and blue. Would this be ok then phender? Thanks for the help.

I have only tried two haddoni together one time and it did not work out very well in the long run. Neither anemone ever looked great. When the weakest one died after about a year and a half, the one that was left went on a growth spurt. But that is just one instance. I really don't have enough experience keeping haddoni together to give you an opinion.

Ocellaris don't naturally host carpets so I would avoid those.

Yeh, they do.
