JEBO Skimmer

Hello, IÃ"šÃ‚´m Julio and I have a 30 Gal aquarium + 15 Gal sump.

IÃ"šÃ‚´ve spent most of my budget on PH monitor, aquarium, some corals (I should have waited more...), pumps, lights, etc. Now IÃ"šÃ‚´d like to buy a Skimmer for the next 1 year Ã"šÃ‚´till I can get a better one.

Do you think jebo 150 protein skimmer will help me?

IÃ"šÃ‚´d rather wait to buy a first brand skimmer but sometimes is better to spend right from the first time....

thanks

In my experience, it is ALWAYS better to buy the right thing the first time in this hobby. With skimmers especially you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money on the JEBO. I would go with frequent water changes for now until you have the money to buy a good skimmer.

I think IÃ"šÃ‚´d save for a better one...

How often should I change water till I have a better skimmer? Now I have an air driven, modified skimmer but only produces 15 CC a day....

Regards

Well, because I want to skimate something until the ASM IÃ"šÃ‚´ve made my own skimmer.

ItÃ"šÃ‚´s made with acrylic, 4" width and 2.5" in the riser tube. Total height is 20".

The feeding pump in 100 gph and the air comes through 3 wooden stones.

Now itÃ"šÃ‚´s producing between 100 and 200 ml of light skimate but I think itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s enough for my tank. At least till I buy a good one....

The question is: Is it better to have a dark skimate or a light one? Trying to have a dark skim the cup gets dirty and starts producing less but a light skimate extracts more water and itÃ"šÃ‚´s difficult to know if takes more dirty.

What would be better?

regards
