Jedi Mind Trick?

i picked this up the other day and was planing on growing it out on the plug and fraging it then growing it out in my tank. colors are green with blue growth and red polyps.

he was asking 59.99 but im there like its my second home, so he gave me 10 bucks off. 59.99 was a fair price for the little guy imo.

With the different shades of blue(instead of one) and the orange polyps(instead of red)...I would say it is most definitely an Undata.(Jedi MT)

I bought an Undata years ago from a LFS that looks very similiar to that.

Since i knew it was Undata and I knew where i got it i named it "Aquatouch Undata". I later received a frag of True Jedi Mind Trick. and when they were put side by side there was a clear difference in polyp size and color. The JMT was not as nearly as hardy as the AT Undata.

So i guess what i am trying to say is "If it looks like a duck , quacks like a duck, it still could be a goose."

Frick, the one you posted looks completely different then the one i have. The pic i took was all lights on so the colors you see are the colors it is, very green base with blue purpleish growth and orange redish polyps. I know for sure its not a superman. I have a superman in my tank and they look nothing alike. Supermans have a light blue base with velvety red polyps. the only monti i can find that match the color pattern is the JMT, so JMT it will be.

Yours is mostly the blue/purple growth edge. Mine gets that too. I can't find any good pics of it at the moment.

I say this a lot, but here it goes again. IMO, I believe if your going put a name on a coral that is know popular that's fine. But i personally believe that popular designer name designates linage (where it came from and who has had success with it). I get very upset if someone tries to sell/trade me something that doesn't carry this lineage, yet puts the false name on it anyway.

NAME CHANGE!!! I will call it Earth To Ocean Toxic Volcano Eruption!! 1000 bucks (FIRM) a frag. want one? lol im jp.

What i will do is find out what the real name is by finding the guy who brought it into my lfs hes a local guy who trades frags for water and such. ill keep you posted.

This coral will have a name before new years.

Frick i completely agree with your last post. Only problem with that is i could have had it first named it the name above and just wasn't popular enough to get it out before the guy who got rich off the same coral.

no, if you were to look at it top down there would actually be more green then blue. That was just the angle i took the pic so you could actually see the growth from green to blue.
