ok some people have said that i should get some powerjet things. what is a good band and were can i get some? thanks puffer21

The least expensive and powerheads that can be used on a wavemaker etc. are the Maxi-Jet 1200 powerheads. They are robust and inexpensive. For a new reefer they are a good investment.

They are used to cirulate the water very briskly which will help to reduce pest algae and in SW tanks with corals, they require this.

At my local lfs they sell mostly aquaclear powerheads...

I have a aquaclear 70 myself. Is there a reason most members on this board don't use them (seems that way at least)

how do they work? you don need a sump do you?

you just submerge them in water and they suck in the water usually from underneath and push them back out of hte nozzle....
