Jewel Tang

I'd love to get one to, but I beleive their BIG $$$$$. Last one I heard of being bought the guy went to Germany to get it.

Jewel tangs are an Acanthurus species commonly called Mustard Tangs. Gem tangs are the reallllllly rare one. Zebrasoma gemmatum. Best bet is to probably just put your name on a list at one of the bigger online sites the MarineCenter, Marine Depot, etc.

WayneL333 or something like that has one

They are unusual but they do come in. They also do typically run 2000+ or so.

Ki's Island in Denver, CO has one. He wants $1800 for it. Give him a call if interested.

Mustard tangs are collected by one person who starts collecting in late April through early June. The price varies, but they are frequently $150 in the Denver area.

Weeeeeeeeee. Another Jewel tang=Gem tang thread. They're not the same fish people....Anyway, Gem tangs online are almost impossible to find. Many people claim (like Roozen's in particular) that they get them in from time to time. But it's very seldom if ever that they actually have them. I looked for one for a year or so, and finally gave up. African fish are not the easiest to aquire. If you want something cheaper you can try to get a jewel tang, but even though they're less pricey, they're still hard to find.
