Joculator Angelfish

QQ. Is a Joculatar Angelfish as reef safe as a Flame Angel? Is it basically a hit and miss with this fish where I basically have to watch it every day to see if it nips at anything? As well, is it safe to keep with a Bellus Angelfish?

Thanks

David

i wouldnt necessarily say as reef safe when they both are 50/50 as to being compatible, it is just a big chance, if you are willing to take it then give it a try! I do believ there would be a problem with the two angels also.

what price did you find one? the joculator? Are you in HS? lol, you must be better with money than i was years ago lol

lol, in high school what ever i made was gone in partying, good for you! my wife was the same wya as you. anyways, back to the topic, i would go for it, but if they dont get along i would for sure ditch the other angels that pose the problem and keep the joculator, assuming it ends up being reef safe that is, if not, then i would keep the other two. With these angels, no one can 100% for sure say that they will get along or that they will be reef safe, it is for sure a case by case basis!

I was thinking sicne one was a Geniacanthus and one was a centropyge they have gotten a long pretty well as long as they were added in at the same time.

well, if you are adding them at the same time then i think it will for sure lower the chances of initial aggression, but, only time would tell, but, honestly, if added at the same time you might just be fine!

whoaa I wish I could be in highschool droppin 7 bills on a fish! :)

I guess those part time jobs after school are paying alot better than when I was doing it.

If you end up picking one up I would love to see some pics.

You shouldn't have problems mixing a joc with a Genicanthus.

In terms of reef-safe, yes its hit or miss as with all angels. Genicanthus are an exception to the rule though. Fleshy LPS generally are a no-no for other angels, but they still might pick at favias and SPS.

My thoughts exactly!

Hey, I work a part-time job at $6.80 an hour and I've bought almost everything in my tank! It just comes down to being careful with what you buy. :)

I have one with a pair of bellus in my LPS oriented tank. No problems. But reef safe, like all angels, is hit and miss.

I have one with a pair of regals a mystery and a gold flake. The joculator in my opinion is the most reef safe of them all. When I had zoos he never touched them.. He dosen't bother anything in my tank..
