Hello how are you , hope great. I'm new to the saltwater world and love it I have a 55 gal , beautiful tank went threw all my ups and downs with the water but I finally got my wife involved and now it's awsome . In my tank now I have a few anemones , one yellow tang , two matron clowns , two nemo clowns , two star fish , one shrimp, a few starter fish I can't remember what kind, now I've lost a sailfish tang and a couple others . Now a couple days ok for my 50th birthday I bought a fox face clown , and loved his looked , he was swimming round doing great . But now he's like hiding never comes out . Is there something wrong

How's the Maroon clowns & nemo clowns getting along? How's your water parameters? It might be stress out or it getting bully(IMO)

It can be difficult to introduce more clown fish to a tank already inhabited by other clowns. I was taught that the way to have peace with more than 2 clown fish is that they are all put in together, as in less than a day. Otherwise it can become a territorial issue. My male clown showed certain signs of illness, and I moved him to my quarantine tank, and when I tried to reintroduce to the display tank, it's not been good.

We need way more information to help you. Please provide levels of salinity, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. How long has it been since the tank was cycled? Do you have a skimmer, sump, etc.?

Finally, you'll hear this sooner or later but a 55 gallon tank is far too small for a tang. I'm going to take a guess and say that this is a pretty new tank and that you're getting advice from your local fish store.

Once you've posted responses to the above, we can walk you through what's going on.

Oh, and WELCOME TO REEF CENTRAL AND TO SALT WATER FISH TANKS!!!!!

What if you removed the clowns to a quarantine tank for a few days or more and then added them with some new ones back to the display tank?

" Is there something wrong"

Yes, you dove head first into the pool without checking the depth. Ask question first and even before that learn how to use the search function and do your research.
