Join us on our first field trip!

This will take place in lieu of of our usual monthly meeting. We will still have a raffle but we'll be raffling off Florida Aquarium souvenirs. Now, we don't have every detailed nailed down yet but we have the basics for you.

When:4/30/11
Where: Florida Aquarium, Tampa
Who: Anyone wishing to attend
Cost: Members: $15 includes round trip transportation from Tanks A Lot
Non-members: $20 includes round trip transportation from Tanks A Lot

More: We are looking for safe drivers willing to transport 2 or more people (not of your choosing). The club will provide $5 to those drivers to help offset gas expenses. Please e-mail ocalareefclub@cox.net if you are interested in being a driver.

Raffle: We will raffle off some Florida Aquarium t-shirts and other souvenirs and as always, members will receive one free raffle ticket, non-members and members can purchase additional tickets for $1.

Club T-shirts: We will have club t-shirts available for order and we will have those available for the Florida Aquarium field trip so you can show off your MORE logo. More details to emerge on pricing.

We will leave Ocala @ 9 am and plan on being back around 6 pm. That should give us approximately 5 hours @ the aquarium. Note that this will not be a guided tour so once there you are free to proceed as you wish. We will look to meet @ 4 pm to allow time for the raffle and to account for everyone prior to heading back.

We need at least 15 participants for our planned trip to the Florida Aquarium. Unfortunately we are well short of that at this point. We have until Wednesday morning to lock in our group rate. I have also not received any feedback on drivers so let me know if you are interested in driving.

Well reef enthusiast, it looks like we are going to have to cancel our planned Florida Aquarium trip. We fell well short of the # of people needed for the group rate and we also failed to secure the necessary drivers. The proximity to the Easter holiday may have contributed to the lack of participation so we will definitely try to do this again in the near future.
