Joint meeting and maybe moving the Sept. meeting

Hi Everyone,
I finally got an MRI done on my back today. I have new para-central herniation/extrusion at L4-5 causing MASS effect on the thecal sac L5 nerve root? (guess that makes me scream). Plus residual/recurrent disc herniation from previous surgery on L5-S1. I get to go to a surgeon on Friday to see what they can do. (Rainer will understand this all All I know is it really really hurts!

Anyhoo...I'm scheduled for to host Septembers meeting. I have been writing to Tomzpc about being the host for the combo CDMAS and the HVRK meeting in November. From what he says I'm the only joint member. He will let me know what the HV people think of traveling up this way. I think it would be good because I'm a member of both groups and I live further south then most of the CDMAS members. I was hoping we could try to do a equipment tag sale/swap thing again also. (quiet you CDMAS members...I know you are thinking so I don't have to fill up my van at someone else's house). I really might have some things that I'm willing to find new homes for myself (don't fall off your seats as you read this). I don't have a huge house but definitely enough room to have everybody here.

I can put together a few holding tanks so we can do a frag swap/sale...whatever. I even have a wet saw if anybody want to frag stuff while here.

I live off Rt. 9 in Kinderhook, NY about 1 hour 15 mins. from Hopewell, Jct.

I'm will to do whichever month is most convenient...just let me know. I would love to host a meeting.

I do animal rescue...mostly dogs but sometimes cats. I will do my best to clean up as much hair and dander as possible for those who are allergic. I want to warn you people with allergies. Also, since my kids are now 21, 19 and 15 the house isn't very kid proof....I do like kids but unless your kid is a true future fish geek maybe consider not bringing them. (not trying to be rude...just honest).

Again, I would love to host the joint meeting....let me know what you all think.

would people rather have the joint meeting at a different location? drive down their way? if so, I will keep the september meeting...it was just an idea

Are you sure you will be feeling upto the Sept. meeting? I wouldn't push yourself to hard. May want to contact Joe and have some one fill in and take another month. Esp. if you have to have surgery sometime soon.

november is a couple months away....no real reason to rush the planning. Tomzpc will call me by the end of the week and then ill post his thoughts and the group can take it from there

just need to keep my mind on fun/future things. I'm so very very depressed...I actually ran out of tissues from crying all day. I need something to look forward to.

Sorry, I'll get off the pity pot before I get a ring around my butt.

On a funny note...you know the lady I am helping by taking care of her fish for a "week" (the one her tanks shattered)...well it seems YOU ARE ALL RIGHT!!!! (stop smirking Mr. Allard...I can see you!!!) I cannot get a return phone call from her at all. So, me being me - does anybody have a 125 tank cheap? (something at least 6 foot long) I am looking for a metal stand or a stand in general. People suck sometimes. I just want a call from her to say she isn't getting them instead of leaving me in limbo (I hate limbo)

If anybody knows of a tank or have extra hob filters or canister filters let me know..

...and always remember NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED! I'm getting my ear full from the mister about keeping the fish. I'm going to keep them anyways...they were so sick/stressed/ripped up from being in a bin for 30 hours and I now have them looking great and eating from my hand....I'm keeping them. I just need to find a bigger tank for the 18 fish...the 55 gallon tank isn't humane for them.

let me know if you hear of any long tanks....

I got a message from Tomzpc from the hudson valley group and he is going to poll his group to see if there is enough people willing to travel to Lindas. There is a lot of interest however he dosn't want to set the combo meet up unless there is a good showing from his group. So for now well will just hang tight till he commits. Seems to make sense to me

Almost all of the HVRK members who have responded have indicated that they would probably or definitely go so at this point I'd say it's up to Linda to choose a date. I like Linda's idea of doing an equipment swap as well as a frag swap. Should be a fun meet. Looking forward to it already guys!

Already have a 55 cichlid tank that may come down.
