Jon/Mike/Jason... how was the road trip?

Long ride but we went to a couple stores and seen some cool things like some four foot sharks now who has a tank big enough for them. I will take some pics of what I got tomorrow. kinda pooped now think I am going to hit the sack.

Great trip. Saw a very nice SPS tank (JohnS) and vsited one nice store (Coral Corner) and one not so nice (names will be deleted to protect the innocent).
For those of you heading to the Racine area, Coral Corner is definitely worth the visit. Awesome LPS selection and a nice bit of everything else. Definitely worth the trip. Jason and I are splitting some huge Blasto merletti colonies that came to us at a very goodprice.
Great Trip!

Pics... hmmm I had em here somewhere...

You know, Last night I was so excited about the new coral frags I got, I fast aclimated my new maroon, and then went to work on attaching corals. I was so wired, I didn't get to bed till 1am. I had to actually try to concentrate at work today, and force myself not to pm and reply.

Now, I'm home, and had a chance to gander at everything again. I'm still very excited about the corals, but I just got a look at that maroon. I relased the male for the safty cage I ushered him into last night, just so I know he wouldn't get mauled. They took Immediatly. I think she's got to be all of 4.5 inches, maybe more. I absolutley LOVe the elegance and grace that Maroon females tread water with those large paddle fins... I can't wait to post pictures to show everyone the size. For those of you who have seen my other 4-5 pairs of maroons, and have remarked at the large sige of those females, this one makes them look tiny. Awesome.

Ok...
John really wanted to go here...

and lucky for me, we did... but we almost didn't... see, this shop is truely on a corner. and it happens to be at 1300 granger(?) More importantly, it's the only building one the 1300 block. The road out front isn't a conventional intersection in the least, but rather, at a weird angle. We missed it the first time, and that was perhaps because we all had our heads craining so far over our sholders, looking for cars so we could pull out, that we missed the sign you see above... not to mention after te turn, we were still hanging on tightly from Mako's 4 G cornering and lightening jump to mack 4.
After a tool around the gehto, we found our way back.

This was the main 2 coral show tanks... this is where we found our Blasto Buys...

And these guys... but we didn't buy them, the pics just turned out great...

There were more tanks that these pictured... lots more... but many of those tanks were populated sparsely, as the expected shipments the next day, today, thursday. We found the staff very helpful and I thought they were a pleasure to work with. At first I was... concerned that no prices were marked on the tanks, but after a few minutes I realized that meant that they were willing to work with the prices a bit, as Jon and I bought the super nice corals, and I was able to massage the price down a bit in my new baby, as explained in paragraph one.

Sorry, I hope that Tang isn't as big on your monitors as he is on my 21".

I agree whole heartedly with Jon that This place is definetly a must.. it is actually easy to find if you take 94 to 20 into racine, and as you turn onto granger, you stop and park your car in the intersection. Jon can post their phone #. Which by the way, is a fax till they open at noon, and then reverts to thier voice and primary line.

The seem to ONLY deal in Marine stock, no freshwater... Ick, I said the "f" word...

Then we were on to JohnS's Home.

The trip with the guys for me was a blast.... BTW, Mako, since gasdropped again, does that mean we get some money back? (just kidding) I though I should have given you more.

Anyone have any other thoughts before I or someone wants to take johns's house or corals?

Jason

Ya I wish I would of waited untill today to fill up but I might not of made it home unless I put some gas in. I am not complaining but how does it go down 10 cents in one day. Figured it out the Camaro gave me 25.7 miles per gallon hows that for a 350. But I do run premium I figure we went through right around $45.00 give or take a little. I should of filled up in Green Bay then we would of known for sure. I think we got some good prices on the corals though gota take some pics of the ones I got. I worked on the deck most of today before I had to go to the slave pits and put in my twelve
