I totally agreed with Robie on this tank! And believe me when the Maestro Robie says TOTM material he's right.Nice tank.Joe

Thanks, maybe in 2-3 years.

What is the height of your tallest rock structure? It looks like your corals had plenty of room to grow vertical at the same time coming up with a cool rock structure. I have been doing some rock layout and it just seems like there is only going to be 6-7" or overhead room for coral growth with 23" of water.

Let me know thanks

Thanks LooseHip.

bubbletip2: Mike thought it was time to expand his operation here on RC. Thanks. How's the tank doing?

Nice. I knew Mike and Reef Specialty were destined for bigger things... Great business model...Customer service comes first...win win situation for everyone... My tank is doing great. Kind of stopped putting coral in and am focusing on what is there. It is a lot easier to see the fill in points when you don't have temporarily placed coral between all the permanent pieces... Will post some pics soon... Your tank is on schedule for max capacity I see...Lol! Nice work my friend... take care and if I don't talk with you have a great holiday;)

Great to hear your tank is doing well. I have no doubt that your tank is doing more than well. You really need to get some updated pics up for those of us that are anxiously waiting some great reef shots. I will get in touch with you before the holidays.

For anyone who monitors their RO/DI water with a TDS meter, what should the reading be? I never used one for years and added one a couple of months ago. The incoming water is around 115-120. The output I measured when first put on was 14, so I changed all the filters since they were 8 months old, except for the TFC memebrane (which is 1 year old, I keep them for 2) and the reading got down to 4 ppm. Never below that. Today it's reading ~10ppm. Is that normal, or is that the best it can do for a $20 meter?

First I would find out if your meter is working correctly but you should have a reading of 0. I replace my filters when I get to 3-4 as the TDS rise fast from there after. You meter may be giving a false reading and needs to be calibrated if possible or your membrane needs to be replaced. I would suggest to get a hold of Marc (melev here on RC)
melev@swbell.net he great guy that will be able to help you out with your RO unit.

I have been reading some reviews from the 50GPD TFC membrane I purchased from MArine Depot and they are not so hot, especially when it comes to the readings on the TDS meter. There is another one out there the 60 GPD Kent Marine Hi-S TFC for $115. Any recomendations?

By the way, after reading 10 ppm for the last seven hours, its now reading 6-7ppm. I will bring some water from work on Monday which is the cleanest money can buy.

My tallest pillar is 15".

Thanks JR i was planning my rock work in the garage today with zip ties and i think my tallest is like 17" but the average is 15-16". I feel pretty good if you have your rock that high i assume your water level is 22-23?

Honestly I wish I can knock down the right pillar the same way I did with the left but I have too many corals grown on it. I feel height is about 14" - 15" but it is also nice to have a variety of heights.

Thanks, Jeremy. Marine Depot pictures a Filmtec membrane but ship a brand made in Korea. Nice. For the same proce no less. Stuff like that really ****es me off. For the money we spend to they actually think $20 bucks makes a difference to us.

Thanks, for the liks to bulk supply. That is where I got my rock as well. I did some manesium as well so it works out. Do you get your GFO from there as well? And what size do you use? I currently use Two little fishes but GFO is GFO so might as well buy it in bulk. Will need to call them anyway, as I am not sure if a 75 GPD TFC will work on my 50 GPD.

Here is my tanks progression within one year.
