how long does it take to cal the phrobe? I can leave it set in the 7.01fliud for over a hr and it never reads below 8.12.then if I go to the 10.01 fluid it never reads below 10.90. never stops saying settling

If I try to set it ,it will try to up date then says phrobe is defecttive.Am I doing something wrong or what getting really fustrated here two days and it will not work

in the future you should post this in the Neptune forum.....

when you are calibrating it it won't read the exact number of the solution. that is why you calibrate it so the controller itself knows the off set of the solution. i hope that makes sense. just let it sit long enough for the number to settle and not keep changing then hit the button and go on to #10 and do the same thing. after you've finished with the calibration then double check the readings. rinse the probe in ro/di water then let it sit in the #7 solution and it should read 7 or 7.01 or somewhere close to 7. rinse it again in ro/di water and do it in #10 and it should be 9.99 or 10.00 or 10.01 or somewhere really close. then you know it's calibrated.

so to re-cap it won't read 7.01 when you are doing the actual calibration but the controller only needs to know what the offset it for it to work correctly.

i hope that makes sense.

if what i outlined above doesn't work i'd make a post in the Neptune forum and maybe someone there can help you. I'm not quite sure why it would say Defective. Mine did say that once when I was only trying to calibrate with one pH solution instead of two.

another question but did you take the small rubber cap off the end of the probe? it sounds like you did but someone on another thread did not take it off and it was giving them the Defective prompt.
