Juan's IM NUVO 30L Reef Aquarium Build

FINALLY!!!... After nearly 4 hours of chasing Bubbles, I was able to bag him out of the aquarium (The kind of stuff that goes viral when posted in YouTube!). Local fish store guy looked at me weird, but he took it (Everyone loves free stuff right?).

Anyway, the big deal for me today is that after a single dose of Vibrant Aquarium Cleaner, my reef is back to spotless condition (To many, this my be a simple combination of Amino Acids, Bacteria and Vinegar, to me, this stuff is magic!!!).

Truly VERY happy with my aquarium right now.

Reef is running stable, all water parameters in order (Working on raising Alkalinity, but within range).

Failed in the attempt to bond Wilson with a new clown, so I'll be heading back to the fish store to get something different...

Still very bad at taking photos with the phone, but Upgraded the Toadstool...

And introduced the first hardy SPS (Branching porites cylindrica)...

Day 45 - The "not much to update" UPDATE

I'm confident to say that I have established a base pattern to maintain solid water parameters; the reef is running steady, algae free and all the inhabitants seem to be doing well under these conditions.

I have decided to swap the MP10wQD pump to the right side of the display, being the side where the majority of the corals are going to be populated (Still thinking about installing a secondary pump in a near future); also removed the Toad Stool coral because the light intensity required for the SPS was melting it half way through the day (It now resides at a fellow reefer's aquarium); added a new fish, a Purple firefish dartfish and have begun to dose KZ Coral Snow and KZ Coral Vitalizer to complement the ZeoVit program with fast very noticeable results.

So, like the title says, not much to update, but feeling confident about incorporating other SPS corals very soon.

Thanks for reading

Found this thread before I started my own 30L back in October. I bookmarked it and forgot about it until today. (I normally read on a forum from my own country)

Brillant! Amazing to read about. I'm still learning, as it is my first aquarium ever, so a bunch of things are a bit too complicated for me - but I'm really learning a lot by reading every update. Thanks! And good look, I'll keep the bookmark and check up once in a while. ;)

Beautiful set up man. I am also considering to get one of those tank. Love the look of the new LED.
After 21 days of curing in the dark, I've begun cycling...

Added 18 Lbs of KZ Aragonite to make a 1" bed (Rinsed and shiphoned before hand)...
Mixed the KZ Reefer's Best salt; after the substrate, the Skimmer and the reactor, the net water volume went down to 20 Gallons.
Skimmer set to full.
Reactor set to max flow.

Initial dose based on the new water content:

8.6 oz of ZeoLite on a 92 ghp reactor.
3.8 ml ZeoBack
7 ml ZeoStart
2.8 ml Sponge power

These doses will drop substantially after day 4, I will then include the use of ZeoFood.

Adopted the Coral Lab SPS AB+ light schedule but went up to 30% Cool white and 28% Warm White, Red and Green still at 24% and all Blues and UV at 100%; fixtures running at 50% intensity.

Sorry about the bad photo... I wish you guys could see how nice it looks in person, but truly impossible to capture with the phone.
