Just kinda trying to get a rough idea on how many people we're going to have going to Liveaquaria's facility in Rhinelander, WI on the 21st of July.

This way we can maybe get some carpooling lined up and some other things.

Please post here if you're planning on attending!

Thanks,
Matt

LiveAquaria Trip

If you were planning on going to Rhindlander, the Live Aquaria frag swap/open house tour is June 29-July 1, or is this is just a private tour arranged for the club?

Thanks

Jeff

I would love to go but my husband started a new job and don't think they will let him take vacation this soon. So... I will go if I can carpool it with someone from central Iowa (I'm in Urbandale).

My family and I are stying in the Dell's for the weekend, but if someone wants to meet me in the Dell's I can drive from there.

i live in urbandale, it would be awsome to go see DFS personally, maybe i can convince my company and significant other to unleash me for a day or two

Jojoyojimbi, you do realize if we make the trip from here it is an 8 hour drive - right? Were you thinking drive up Friday, spend the night somewhere, then drive back after the tour at 12:30. That would put us home in Urbandale around 11ish. Hmmm, if we left Friday afternoon I would only miss 1/2 day of work. I wonder if there is a decent inexpensive hotel near the facility in Rhinelander.

could there be an expensive one?

i usually work saturdays and sundays so i'd probably have to come back to be at work sunday, unless we have a new schedule bid before then, then i might be lucky enough to get weekends off, maybe

I would be there but i have a wedding on my wifes side to attend in Indiana the same day......uhg.

Well I hate to do this but after discussing it a little bit I think we're going to reschedule this. There are a lot of people that really want to go but are busy. We were kind of wondering if this might happen if we scheduled something like this during the summer months.

The summer months are very busy for everyone and we all understand it's hard to commit time for things like this, during this time of year.

Sorry to everyone that was planning on attending but we will be rescheduling another trip.

So now let's hear it, when does everyone want to reschedule this for?

Sorry everyone,
Matt

Wow,
I don't think this is a good decision. When the club makes plans and then breaks them to accomodate people who can't make the originally scheduled date, do you really think that club participation will be increased? As far as I am concerned, rescheduling is the worst possible option. If people can't make an event, that is their issue, and they can catch the next one. When the club schedules an event, and people make plans and reservations to attend, and then the club reschedules, that is really lame.

If we wanted to get everyone's opinion of when to have the event, we should have taken care of it before scheduling the event in the first place. Changing after the fact trying to make everyone happy is not going to work. Take a look through the GIRS board the last few years. The club needs to choose a date and stick to it.

I couldn't agree more. This has been on the schedule for a LONG time. We decided to make a family vacation out of it and stay at the Dells for a few days. My wife has already bought tickets to things that are not refundable, so it's either happens on the originally scheduled date, or I'm not going to be able to attend.

As much as i would like to go rescheduling now isn't a good idea in my opinion, i have to agree with brad on JB on this one, those of us who can't make it will just have to try and make it next year.

Just my 2 cents

Alrighty then I guess we'll keep it on. Hopefully we can get more than 3 or 4 people to attend. Not really sure if they will go for that. They only do this kind of thing for clubs and they might not consider that few of people worth there trouble. So hopefully everybody that is free can try and make it.

Thanks,
Matt
