Hey Marc,

Tim's post about his near tank disaster made me think that we could do a little presentation on electrical safety around the tank. I can do an installation of a GFCI outlet. Maybe a 30 minute presentation after Bruce's or Robert's presentation.

I really like Mihn's idea too...I'm almost a completle dunce when it come to electrical...at least safety wise..
 
No more fragging demos. I think that the last one wasn't that long ago and quite thorough. Other topics of relevence would be cool, otherwise, it's all about the movie (I don't have any access to good reef footage). I really enjoyed Rich's trip pictures. Another round of that from a different trip/location would be cool if he's up to it.
 
what are the chances of having a DIY session one of these days on the Maxi Jet Mods? I want to do the mod myself but would love to see it done in the group enviroment.
 
the gf and i really enjoyed rich and jeni's pictures, as well (and would love to see another presentation!).

personally, i never mind seeing a program on reefs but i'd much rather hear members speak about a few different topics than watch a program. :)

also, maddness, if you're looking to do the mod, let me know when you're going to buy your supplies-- i'd like to go in on them with you, if possible. :)

Thinking about it though, we would have to figure something out because from start to finish that would take alot longer than the hour and half meeting. Unless we could do the meat of of the mod and send everyone home to finish it up, assuming it was very organized it might be possible. That link has the current supply list, just would need some tools.

I'm not sure if there would be enough time, or enough people interested in the MJ mod to commit a meeting to it. In my experience these DIY projects have been held on a weekend at a members home.
 
Can we video tape these meetings and put them in the library? That way if people miss a good meeting they can always go back and view it on tape.

That is pretty much what I was refering to, just didn't want to start a new thread;)
 
I've been staying away from the PC so I don't push my hands too far. We'll have a July club speaker, I'm just waiting back for a confirmation.

I did successfully book Eric Borneman to come and do a hands on coral ID workshop for us in the Fall. Should be pretty cool.
