July meeting

With BAYMAC behind us and summer officially beginning tonight, it's time to kick off our summer bbq and tank tour meetings. The second Friday in July is the 10th, so I propose Saturday afternoon, July 11 for a tank tour / bbq / meeting.

I suggest we do some Santa Rosa area tanks in July and maybe RP and Petaluma tanks in August. I WILL have my new lps tank going by then and I look forward to having y'all see it and getting feedback from you about how I can make it better.

Who in the Santa Rosa area is up for showing off their tank on Saturday July 11 and who would be up for hosting a bbq meeting at the conclusion of the tour?

If all goes well wih moving the tank then we can go by my place. I would do the bbq but I wonder if I would have enough room. Today is move in day for us and next week for the fish.

Chris, Dale and Steve, thanks very much for volunteering to be stops on the tank tour. Steve please don't be offended if we don't show due to your location.

Is anyone else in the Santa Rosa area willing to have us stop by? Anyone willing to host a bbq? I know we have more than 3 members in the vicinity. :)

I should mention that we will have a good raffle going on for the meeting. And a frag swap if enough people are interested. This could be a good time for members to drag reef interested friends along too as seeing nice tanks and eating yummy bbq would be a good way to draw in new members.

Enjoy Oregon Mary!

Thanks Bob. You've hosted us before, so I almost feel bad asking if you feel up to being the final stop (bbq location)? If anyone else would like to volunteer, please speak up.

We just had a BBQ party yesterday and I already asked Tammy and she said two weekends in a row is too much. if you would like to hold off on tank tours until next month I think we can host the BBQ.

I would love to host bbq but our house is not ready to host a bbq yet. If we do hold off on the tour we could. Our we could host a meeting later this summer. I think by next weekend my tanks wont look good enough for the tour. I have the start of a full blown diatom outbreak coming on.

Ok Dale. Good luck with the diatoms!

Thanks Jake. Stop, no Q. Gotcha. I'm looking forward to seeing your chalices again. Mmmm, Tubbs Alien Eye... :)

Ok so where are we starting and at what time. I think we could come by my place. If the big tank is not looking good then at least we can look at the other two tanks.

With Tom and Jeff's fabulous aquascaping Dale I'm sure your tank looks better than you think. Plus remember that we are here to share our experiences and whatever you may be encountering now can be a learning event for others.

With the lack of interest in hosting a bbq, we will conclude our tour at the usual Union Hotel meeting location. Currently we have 5 stops on the tour - Owen, Chris, Dale, Bob and Jake. Thanks guys for stepping up to be a stop. I haven't planned a route but it seems starting in Windsor with Owen and working our way towards the Union Hotel is in order.

How does meeting at the first stop around noon sound? We'd probably end up at the Union Hotel between 2 or 3pm. Any suggestions for better timing?

My plan was to meet at Owen's and to pass out additional addresses at that point. We'll be starting in Windsor and working our way towards the Union Hotel.

I am not comfortable posting Owen's address without his permission, so I recommend pm'ing him or me for it.

Bob, do we need to inform the grubbery that we will be showing up there?
