Hi y'all,

Our July meeting is going to be at Aquarium Designs at 1:00 pm on Saturday July 29th. Aquarium Designs will give us a talk about reef keeping, the ideas that we hobbyists can all benefit from.

Hope to see you all there.

We will take a field trip to the Chattanooga Frag Swap (Aug 5th?)in lieu of our August meeting. I hope I will see some of you there as well.

Tomoko

Hi Tomoko,

I noticed that Aquarium Designs has two locations. Which one?
I live in Decatur and haven't been to either one.
Can you post the address?

This will be my first meeting with the group. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks,

Cam

I was looking foward to meeting all of you but unfortunitly I will have to miss both meetings due to my Destin trip. Are we on for a meeting at 8Ball's?????!!!

I am not going to be able to make it. Marine Fish in ATL asked me to come to the BIG SALE and help out. I told them I would so I will not be able to make it but hope to see everone in TN for the frag swap.

I would like to thank Aquarium Designs for their hospitality and a great service. I enjoyed the talk/question and answer session with John.

It was good to see you all. I am very happy to see new faces, too!!

Despite the earlier report about a pH issues with Philip's frag tanks in the back of the shop, frags looked really nice, still very reasonably priced. I got two stunningly beautiful and healthy frags of SPS's from there.

I hope to see you all again in the future meeting. We have the regional frag swap coming up in August 5th, and then 8Ball will be hosting us in September. Since John Newby (Coral Reef Aquatics) are not hosting us anymore due to his busy schedule on weekends, I need to find more volunteers (individual member or shops) to host our future meetings. Aquarium Designs is happy to host us in the future and so are other LFS's in North Alabama. There's also WEEC. I just need someone to let me know when he/she would like to host us or which shop you all like to visit or have our meetings at. Please help me out here. I have a number of experts' lectures on DVD's from IMAC in Chicago and another batch from MACNA we can play in our meeting, too. We just need to agree on time and places.

Any taker or suggestion for October?

Tomoko

I to had a great time. For some future meeting I wouldn't mind having it at my house but it will be a while for my tank to be show worthy :) But I know someone that could give a lecture, one of my old proffesors at UAH who taught my Ichtheology class some years ago. I could get in contact with him for some future meeting as well.

I am glad to have met alot of you saturday and for those that I didn't really get to talk with much I am sure to have plenty of other meetings to get to know you. I really enjoyed the open discussion and learning how some of you maintain your systems!

thanx,

Jay

It was great to meet all of you! I look forward to our future meetings and to getting to know all of you better.

Tomoko I would be happy to host the October meeting at my house in Decatur. I have a fair amount of space. There are 3 tanks with fish & mostly soft corals & other inverts. None qualify as full blown reef tanks yet but I'm working towards that on my 55. By October things will have progressed. There are several softies that I'm willing to frag. Perhaps you or one of the other members could do a fragging lesson. In any case, I'm sure we'll find something interesting to do. Just let me know, the offer's open.

One more round of Thanks to John of Aquarium Designs for taking the time out of his weekend to come meet with us. A fine establishment and very conscientious dealer!!!

On this weekend's frag swap, I am planning on going if anyone wants to carpool up there.

On the September meeting, it would be great if we could try not to schedule it the weekend of the 23rd because that is the MACNA conference in Houston. Anybody else going to MACNA?
