Hi y'all,

Our July meeting will be on Saturday, July 27th at Marinerfs house. Mariner will cooks some burgers for lunch around 12:30 pm. I am hoping that this date and time will work out for Greenbeanfs presentation, which is supposed to be on clownfish/anemone symbiosis and his work on that subject.

Other demos and presentations are welcome as always, as long as you don't blow up something or cause a flood in the house.
If you want to do some frag trade, I am sure Mariner has no objection to that.

Any volunteer for some sides and drinks?

Hey everybody,
We're looking forward to hosting our first NARC meeting. Hope ya'll can come. I'll grill some burgers or something, along with some fixings (maybe potato salad and beans). Just bring anything else what you want foodwise -- desserts, drinks, etc.

We live about halfway between Athens and Rogersville just off Hwy. 72. The address is 16239 Log Cabin Road, Athens, 35611. Mapquest gives a pretty accurate map. The turn onto Log Cabin Road is about 13 miles west of the I-65 interchange -- if you pass the Clements Fire Dept. you've gone too far! As you come down Log Cabin Road, our house is on the right, just past a a gravel road called "Hot Rod Lane". :rolleyes:

My tanks are nothing spectacular, but have some unique ghetto type features (for example the 75g is a sumpless reef tank lit by flourescent lights). Hopefully Greenbean (Mike) will be able to come and make a presentation. He's one of the founding members of NARC; I believe he's a grad student now at Auburn majoring in Marine Biology or some such thing. That cow college has learned him bunches about the critters we keep in reef tanks...go figure ;)

Yikes, I wonder what happened. Does anyone else have the same problem with my posting as Mariner does?

I've got the supplemental language setting set for East Asian language, but the primary is still English.

Your apostrophes come through as f. I just figured you were trying to "ease us into" Japanese.;)
 
All apostrophes including the one that H@rry typed look the same on my screen. I wonder how mine look on someone else's screen...

I hope to make this meeting it will be my first.
all so if any one is interested i have a large w/s maroon clown & lg carpet w mint green tint y/g mouth. open it will reach front to back of my 55 would like to maybe trade for frags or whatever

For those of you coming to the meeting, my presentation will be about my work in Jordan involving how respiration in clownfish and anemones affects their symbiosis. Unfortunately, since it's a multi-year project there will be a lot of questions we still haven't answered, but there are some interesting results. It will be more of a scientific talk, but I'll keep it light and hopefully you'll find some aspects of it applicable to the hobby.
