July NARC Meeting

We're looking forward to being there. Mary Ruth hasn't made up her mind what she's going to bring (imagine that)!;)

Hi y'all,

Beaslbob will be coming to July meeting. He will bring the diy 2 part chemicals for anyone who wants some.

Anyone bringing frags to give away or swap?

Tomoko

I am planning on attending. Speaking of frags, I have two pcs of kenya about 4" tall that is free to good home. I will bring if anyone wants.

We're getting geared up for tomorrow.
Looks like the menu will be hamburgers, hot dogs, beans and 'tater salad.

When you arrive, you can PARK anywhere on my yard or in the driveway. Try to avoid parking on the neighbor's gravel road; he doesn't like it

I was hoping to have the exterior scratches buffed out of the 135g by tomorrow, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Just pretend they aren't there. ;)

Speaking of the 135g, it still looks pretty empty, so feel free to donate any extra frags (or show pieces :D ) that you need to get rid of.
C'ya tomorrow!

Anyone have a temperature controller they want to sell? I just need something to control my fan over my tank.

I don't, but I have had luck just putting my fan on a timer and running it concurrently with the MH lighting, or a little longer. I was getting temp fluctuations of several degrees before trying this, but now the temp stays between 79-80 degrees 24/7.
hth,
Mariner

If I run it constantly, it gets too cold and the heater kicks on. When it's 98F outside.

Right now since I work at home, I just turn it on if the tank is getting warm. But that all ends after this week!

I thought about putting it on a timer and running it like every other hour, the temp fluctuations aren't really predictable. If the AC isn't running much that day, I don't evaporate as much and the tank temp goes up even if the ambient temp is the same.

I have the fans in my hoods on the same timer as the first MHs to come on and off. In the summer I have been running them 24/7 until this year but I have been lazy about changing them to the "summer" mode. I just checked and one tank is 84.3 (I changed that one to summer mode) and the other one is 81.0.

I wish that I could attend, but prior engagement will have me in Mobile for the weekend. I hope ya'll have a good time and I will try and attend the next one.

Great meeting Steve, thank you very much for having us all over. Great looking tanks and very large corals. Great Job!

Steve;

Your new tank is shaping up very nicely. I know you are proud of it. Your 75 is also awesome (especially the clam).

Thanx for having us. The burgers were great and we were glad to see the gang again. Greenbean's presentation was very informative.

We had a blast. Thanks for having. Your tanks are looking good! Your new tank looks like it will turn out great once things have a little time to grow

It was a wonderful meeting. Good food, very educational lecture and great company of fellow reefers.

Mariner - you new tank is coming along really nicely :) The amazing 75G is great, too.

Hey everyone,
We really enjoyed having ya'll over.
Thanks to those who brought frags and/or food!
And I really enjoyed Greenbean's presentation. Great stuff! Just wish I knew where to sign up for an all-expense-paid-trip to the Red Sea to study clownfish.

Here's Beaslbob's message:

"Please pass on my thanks and appreciation for the absolutely awesome meeting at Mariner's house.

I have been waiting for years to see the legendary 75g and was not disappointed. What a great clam.

Thank Mariner.

zzzzzzzzzzz.

Bob LOL"
