Have you tried soaking them in a little tank water first? I do that with my small pellets so they sink faster. Maybe it will work with the larger ones too.
Gary, I have the same problem with my small Spectrum pellets. I have an automatic feeder and a quarter of them seem to find the overflow before they sink.
Depending on who is eating them, you can sink the ones you have using one of these:
I use this, and it takes my clown goby and cleaner shrimp a few hours to eat one pellet. And as they peck away at it, they are feeding my other fish with the bits that float away.
Once they get soaked enough to sink down to the pump intake they go right through the water returns. Some of 'em get diced up by my main pump. All are nice and soft by the time they enter the display. My fish are learning rather quickly to hit the pellets BEFORE they reach the overflow but I still end up with a few jumbo pellets sitting on top of my drains.
I've just tried NLS pellets for the first time since so many on here swear by them. Apparently my fish never got the memo. A few of the gobies will poke at them, but no one else will even look at them.
