Jumping back in

Hello everyone!
I took the plunge this weekend and got back into saltwater. I had a 75g saltwater setup approx 20 years ago. I now have a 30g tall with a Penguin 350 biowheel, 2 aquatop 158 powerheads, 100w aquatop heater, 18-24 aqueon optibright+led light, and a fusion 400 air pump. I am using live sand for the substrate and have a few pieces of dry rock placed. I have a couple of question for you guys.

1. Is anyone familure with ARC? https://arcreef.com/live-rock/ I am thinking about ordering my live rock from them but would like some feedback on any personal experiences with them. I currently have about 30lbs of dry rock,

2. LED lighting is new to me. The Optibright comes with a remote with a timer and i was hoping that someone has this light and could tell me which lights to have on and a good schedule. It appears to be a basic timer with a 1 time off and on for each selection(3 total. white, blue, RGB) Says it has moonglow accents also.

I am thinking i would like to have some lps coral in the tank. I am in no rush either. I am cycling my tank now after setting it up and want to take my time so as to get it and keep it right. I know i will have so many more questions in the near future but i think this is a good start. Let me know if i missed giving any information about the tank so that i can get the best answers possible.

Thanks,
John :bum:

Did you test your starting water parameters? optibright might not be enough for lps corals(imo). You will need protein skimmer also

Alka. 1.026
High PH. 8.4
Amonia. 0
Nitrite. 0
Nitrate. 0
Water temp 84°

I'm also old school, I placed one large shrimp from our fish market in the tank today. I will leave it in about 2 days then pull out anything that is left. Hopefully that is still a good method to start the cycle
