I had a niger trigger. Had him about 3 mos, was eating well, and active. My tank is doing well, parameters wise.... Yesterday I found him on the floor outisde the tank - he jumped. Is that normal behavior? Don't know what caused him to take the plunge, but it was a suprise.....

To start with he isnt a reef safe fish.
Some fish can jump and will usually do in the beggining or if he get over stressed from water quality to feeding amount and type. You can never garuntee a fish will never jump but you can help prevent with a cover . Many use an egg crate or type lid.
You say all readings good but what do you test for and there readings?

That doesn't seem all that unusual. The fish might have been startled or just rambunctious. Triggers aren't one of the more common jumpers, but I lost a swiss basslet that way after it being in my tank for years.
