June 2006 POTM --- SUBMIT YOUR PICS!!!

Ladies & Gentlemen,

It is that time of the month again. Please send in your POTM submissions for our June 2006 contest. Here are some tips / guidelines for the contest, as usual.

1. Submit the originally sized photo to the contest. We will resize it as needed for the website, etc. We need the original in case you win and it ends up in the calender.
2. Just a little bit of tweaking in Adobe Photoshop or the Gimp can correct color & white balance problems in your picture. This sort of image tweaking is a good thing. Refer to this article by Greg Rothschild on Reefkeeping.com for more information.
3. Turn off the feature in your camera that prints dates on the picture.

I believe that article is focused on using Photoshop. If anyone would like some tips, there is a free program called the Gimp that will do all the same things. If anyone is interested, I will post some more details...

Whoops - also appears I neglected to give notice of pic submission deadline. I will go ahead and make that Saturday, June 17th 2006 - Midnight.

(And with THAT, you'll probably have a grace period of a number of hours as I might accept it if it is in my INBOX by the time that I put the poll online sometime Sunday after church....)
