Our June meeting will be at the home of Kevin faurot. The address is 1112 E Edgewater PL.Broken Arrow, Ok 74012.I am sure Kevin will give more details on how to get to his home.

My house is pretty easy to find. It’s on Lynn Lane/9th Street/177th (stupid BA) in between 91st and 101st. The subdivision is called Washington Lane and is located on the east side of Lynn Lane. After you enter the subdivision you take the first right. My house is on the corner. The second house on the left is for sale so people can park there or just take the next right and park in front of the house. I’ve added a link to help. Hope it works.

Good deal. Thanks Kevin, it's always fun to see someone elses tank and learn their habits, both good and bad. I hope to see everyone there

Not sure what the topic will be for this meeting but I'm looking forward to getting thoughts/opinions of my setup, the good and the bad. Right now the skimmer is a little undersized to say the least. A new skimmer and controller (prolly reefkeeper) are on the short list right now"¦..

Also any thoughts on food? I know Scott has been asking me to boil Crawfish. I don't mind doing that. Eating crawfish usually takes 3 to 4 hrs, due to the fact that I normally cook 10 to 15lbs at a time and have three to four batches. We can try 20 to 25lbs at a time if needed to speed things up. The other factor is cost. It normally costs around $200 to feed 10 people (keep in mind these are my friends that eat it all the time and can keep up with most coon#$@)

The date will be Saturday the 18. Kevin the crawfish sounds awesome, although I dot see the need to spend that kind of money. Now if it were prime rib I wouldnt question it. I'll get with JJ and we will see what we come up with as alternate solutions as there is no telling how many will show up. And we could easily spend over 1000 in food costs. Not to mention the total time involved.

Cost is the main downside ($4.95 lb) and that doesn’t include the potatoes, onions, sausage and corn. It can be a full evening of eating with usually 30 to 40 minutes in-between batches. So that gives plenty of time to visit and do other things. And yes the total cost could be a little out there, if you have a large group. Normally it works out to be $20.00 a person. Just let me know what everyone decides….

After hearing a little about your tank from the last meeting I think the meeting needs to be on your tank.I really want to see how you have everything set up.We can also have a round table discussion as well about what's going on in our tanks and see who is having problems etc..I know I just lost my African flame back yesterday of unknown causes. It was stuck to my power head and the skin was next to the fish detached.

That sucks. This hobby can drive you to the crazy house. I know my friends all think I'm certified. I would be more than willing to discuss my tank and the history, good and bad (flood of 2010), of how I ended up with a 300 gallon 8' long beast of a tank. It is still a work in progress but I'm getting closer every day. :headwalls:

Sorry for the delay in the e-mails. I've been getting hammered with work. As soon as I get home tonight I'll get started on it. These 12-14 hr days have started way too quickly this year.

Couple things:

What are the food plans? Another option could be ribs or pork shoulder. I can smoke 6 racks at a time. Not sure how many people are coming but 6 racks could feed around 12 to 18 depending on the guy to girl ratio and if we have any big eaters.

Topic. Did we decide on one? Had another thought. I built 7 islands (rock structures built with live rock, foam, epoxy, and sand). Not sure if anyone is interested but I could talk about the simple process of putting them together. Of course there are multiple threads on reefcentral about this topic.

Also not that it really matters but I never received a email about this meeting…. Just checking to see if one went out..

Jena,Lilly and I (Scott T) plan on attending this one for sure.Once we decide on what is on the menu we will try to bring a dessert or sidedish to add to all of the other goodies!

I have not had time to get the e-mail out yet. I just walked in the door from work. I apologize for not being on top of this. I have started on it, but just have not had time to complete it yet. Yahoo is being dumb tonight and won't let me access my e-mail for some reason. Me and my crew will be at the meeting.

As far as food goes if you wish to do BBQ that would be awesome. I'll add that to the e-mail and we can get people to bring the sides and desert.

The topic for this meeting is still open. If you would like to do one over rock walls let me know what all material you will need and we can do a small demonstration on how to do it. I should have most of the things needed lying around.

Again I apologize for the delayed e-mails they will be out asap.

Ok, looks like I’m going to make a executive decision and smoke 6 racks of ribs. Hope this works for everyone.

I’ve noticed in the past that you posted if alcohol is allowed or not. Bring what you like. I know I will open a cold one when I start grilling.

As for the rock “islands”. I didn’t make rock walls, I made rock structures that I knew wouldn’t fall apart. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I hated adding a frag or trying to move something that caused a rock free for all that ended up causing all kinds of damage. I think I have pictures of the process.
