Hello all,
I just wanted to say hello and introduce my Wife and I. We are Zach and Tracy and just this weekend stopped by our LFS and were instantly hooked on the beauty and fascination of salt water fish and sea life. We purchased a Bio Cube 29 gal tank with stand, 2 bags of CaribSea salt and pepper Arag-alive live araganite reef sand, a bag of Instant ocean sea salt, Hydrometer, 100 watt aquarium heater good to 30 gallons, and an Aqualight digital power center power strip. The tank won't be in until this friday so in the meantime we are busy reading "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Robert M. Fenner.
In hind-sight I'm a little worried about the small size of the bio cube but we got a great deal on it ($298.00 for both the tank with all its accessories and stand) and are planning to do a fish only system with a live rock and possibly a few very hardy invertebrates later on. Eventually we want an aquarium with some clams and anemones as well as other life but we'll see how we do with the fish only system for a few months.
Anyways I just wanted to say hello and introduce ourselves as I'm sure we will have lots of questions as we embark on this wonderful hobby. If anyone sees any problems or issues with the accessories we chose please by all means let us know as everything is still in its origional boxes and can be exchanged, (I'm a little worried that the 100 watt 30 gal heater may have to work a bit hard to keep a 29 gal tank stable and heated properly and am toying with purchasing one rated to heat more gallons so it won't have to work so hard) . well that's all and thanks in advance.
Zach
P.S. This site is amazing and all the pics are a huge inspiration.
