Just added a chiller to my Nano

Well here are the pics of my new chiller added onto my nano.
This tank has more heat problems then the other nano for some reason, so it got the unit.

It's a peltier chiller so no moving parts except for a fan that only come on when it's temp diff is way different. IE:Water temp is 5 degs off unit setting.

It's done a great job so far, although it hasn't been hot at all either.
It also heats so when the tank temp drops it reverses and heats the water.

I just disconnected the green hose from the nano return pump and connected it to the tubing out of the tank, then connected the return from the chiller/heater to the normal output head on the nano.

I also had to dermel out the hood to fit the hoses as seen for the lid to close.

I nabed this chiller off CL down in Berkley a few months back for $100.

The baby was alseep for a few hours so I had a chance for a quick DIY project :)

Yeah I know it's ulgy but how else do you chill a nano?

How hot was it getting?
I've been open the feeding lid slightly and pointing a small fan in that direction and so far(fingers crossed) the temp has been fairly stable........80.5 ish

I don't open the lids, because of leaping fish..
heheh
It was getting to 84 and then we were adding ice to get it down to at least 82.
But that was on those hot days a while back.

Steve,

I'd be interested to see how well that chiller works. :D Hey - put a energy meter thing on it and let us know how much electricity it uses.
