Just added a Potter's but desjardini sail fin is beating him up.

Just added the Potter's to my 80 gallon tank 2 nights ago. Right away my sail fin started backing up into him and hitting him. After for off the most stressful hours I have had in past 4 years I finally got the tang out and into a colander in the tank. I'm afraid to add him back in because the Potter's is my favorite fish. I have a reef tank so I can't really move rocks. I added the Potter's in at the same time as I added in a royal grama and damsel to try and offset aggression. I don't want to get rid of my tang because that's my dude but I will if I have too. Should I get another same size fish to try and off set anger again o and I also have quite a bit of hiding space in my tank.

You are going to have aggression with the desjardini because of your tank size. Not trying to be a tang police but 80 gal is too small for that type of tang. sorry. :(

agree with above comment. You can't keep a Sailfin in an 80 gallon without expecting a lot of issue. That fish gets HUGE FAST and they recommend at least a 240 gallon. Common people

Trade that sailfin in on a kole tang. It'd be better suited for that tank, and will likely be less aggressive since it will be added after the potters...

My sailfin gets aggressive at times in my 225g. You'll likely continue to have accelerated aggression if the sailfin stays in an 80g...

Salfins can also get quite aggressive as they get bigger. Mine is now 6" plus and a real ba$tard. As others have noted, crowding simply makes it worse.

Agreed get rid of the tang. If you really want a tang a kole tang would be better. A red tail bristletooth tang would be nice as well.

A kole probably will be just as aggressive with new fish, mine is and especially angels for some reason. I put one in with my kole and he always chases it but my angel never really seemed to care since he was allot faster and could get away through little holes. Over the years he has stopped some what with the angel but still show who is boss once in a while. The Angel is second in command though.. I had the same issue with the angel he replaced. Tangs just can be aggressive with new fish period..

Unless a tang is in a large tank this is a issue.

An acclimation box can really help with tangs.
