Hey all, I've been hanging around the Reef Fishes forum for a few weeks now and have really enjoyed the pictures and advice from you all. My 150g rebuild is rapidly approaching as I have ordered all of my equipment and sand. I have a 48x30x24 rimless 3-side Starphire tank made by Miracles. I have a Synergy Reef sump, Reef Dynamics skimmer, EcoTech Vectra return pump, 2 EcoTech MP40WQDs, and 2 EcoTech Radion XR30W G3 Pros. My plan is to have a 2.5" sandbed and ~100lbs of the Walt Smith Reefrock that has been aqua-cultured by Tampa Bay Saltwater. I'm willing to have fish that nip or even devour coral. I am a big fan of tangs but I don't really want to deal with the stress of keeping them happy and free of ich in a 48" tank. They will have to wait until our next house.
I've been spending quite some time planning out my stocking list (the best part of a build, right?) and wanted to get some feedback from you all.
Stock list in order of introduction:
Pair of Wild Caught True Percs
A few Hector's Gobies
Golden Midas Blenny
Fathead Sunburst Anthias
Regal Angel
Trio of Leopard Wrasse (hopefully kuiteri but will depend on availability)
Pair of Spotbreast Angels (melanospilos)
Flame Angel
Obviously these fish are not going to be introduced right away. I was thinking about putting the clownfish, gobies, and blenny in first. The anthias and Regal would be about 4-6 months down the road with the rest to be longer down the road. I have successfully kept pairs of leopard wrasses in the past so I'm confident I can give the kuiteri wrasses the husbandry that they need.
I think my main concerns are keeping a Regal, pair of Melanospilos, and hopefully a flame angel in the same tank.
I would really appreciate any feedback!
