Just Bought A New Tank For $.99

I'm stoked, I was looking through some old mail and came across an add for a new pet store thats right by my house in LSL and they have some special where if you spend 20 bucks, they will give you a 10Gal. tank for 99 cents. The letter said that the special ends at the end of the month, and I had to get some stuff anyway, so I went up there, checked out their corals, got some dry goods and got the tank!

I know its only a 10Gal. and new they probably only cost about 10 bucks, but common... 99 cents! I don't even know what I'm gonna do with it. I might even go back tomorrow and get another one. Maybe use it for a QT (if I was smart) or, (more likely) construct some sort of gettofied nanopod-aquacube type tank.

Yeah, maybe I will get another tomorrow. One for quarantine, and one to make a heavy duty looking display tank. I can see it all now... Bubble king 250 skimmer, four vortech powerheads, six tangs, thirty seven pounds of rock, bare bottom. Oh, and for lighting I will use the sun(obviously).

Why would not post the name of a new LFS?? Is it a PetsMart? I would never visit that neck of the woods for something, but I might on a trip to a Mizzou game next fall?? Maybe??

The reason I did not list the name of the store at the beginning is that I didn't want to get busted for "promoting" a business on RC.
By the way, I now have THREE 10Gal. tanks! What to do with them...

Those appear to be franchised stores. Is the owner local? If so it would be considered an LFS and should be listed in the forum. IMHO

How is there selection of SW stuff? What brands of dry goods are they selling?

The owner (Tom Killmade) lives in my neighborhood. Both he and his wife work there. They alway get really cool fish, and some of their corals are very nice too. But sometimes it can get expensive for the really big corals. Dry goods... Aqueon tanks(ALL shapes-sizes), Instant ocean, Seachem, Caribsea, Pond Master pumps, Coralife, Coral Frenzy, assorted t-5 lights, a lot of different kinds of food, and a bunch of other stuff that I cant remember. Nothing real high end. I go there because the employees are super nice and help the best they can(rare commodity these days), and they will special order and start stocking any products I want.

its a pretty cool store, they sell dog and cat stuff too

There use to be a Petland in St. Charles but I don't think they stocked SW stuff. I did enjoy their freshwater selection. The fish all looked healthy and the staff that I talked to new what they were talking about.

There were always protesters or whatever you want to call them, marching outside the store because the sold puppies. In stead of adopting.

There were a group of protesters outside of my neighbors house last weekend. They were holding up signs pointing them at his house so he could see them. I had to chuckle because he is blind.

(I don't want to mention the issue they were protesting to keep this thread from becoming a debate about the issue)
