Just brought home a cynarina!

Well, I went into my LFS (thats known for having some nice corals...) and walked out with a beautiful red/pink cynarina. I've actually been eyeing this coral for about 2 months. I finally couldnt stand it anymore and now its in my tank. After I got it home I shut the lights off to help it acclimate, so I will post pics tomorrow. Deflated its only about 2" long, but its 4-5" when inflated.

Anyway, does anyone here have a red cynarina? Where does yours like it in the tank? I've heard they like moderate lighting and low flow...I hope mine will be ok on the sandbed.

Also, what do you feed yours? I plan on spot feeding mysis and brine and once it gets bigger pieces of silverside or shrimp. I just want to see what others have done with their cynarinas. :)

Here is a red/pink one I picked up about a year ago, it has got a lot bigger since this pic...
I keep mines on the sandbed semi under a ledge.
I would say moderate lighting and moderate flow is good.
I don't spot feed mines anything, every once in a while, when I am feeding the tank, the coral will extend some sweeper tetacles and take some food out the water colum but I never spot feed it.
Good Luck!

I've got a dark red cynarina and a flourescent red scolymia. Both are very easy to care for. Just put them in a shaded spot with lower flow and they get huge. I feed my Spectrum pellets and mysis shrimp every now and then. The Cynarina especially loves the pellets.

here's mine just lying around::

it's in a somewhat low flow area in the rockwork, i feed it once a week or so silversides or krill....

ya I feed mine krill every now and then probably once a week or so when i have time... he tends to like lower flow and medium light

Sweet...I have mine on the sandbed, halfway under a rock - so its pretty shaded, but not completely.

Serioussnaps: Thanks! Those dogs are my babies...Magnum, the pit bull on the left was about to be put to sleep in a shelter in Orlando. He's now in training to be a therapy/service dog. Maui, the american bulldog, is the love of my life in doggie form. She's the best :)
