Did you get the 15% off for the RTBA and the clown pair, Eddie should give you that when check out unless you didn't show up last weekend for his soft openning. I saw the show size RTBA that you got, but wasn't sure if they will bubble up, sure impressed about the bloody red color and the size. It would be great if you can take a picture and show us how big does it get.

$65 for that pair is a pretty good deal. $150 for a RBTA is a bit much IMO. Pretty good deal on the slimmer too ..

Yup.. I heard you :) .. I paid $75 for my 1/2"-3/4" Neon green toadstool and now people selling 1"-2" piece for $20 :D .. I'm still happy with the purchase. It's my favorite coral :) ..

I disagree completely. While RBTAs are still relatively inexpensive to get a split from a fellow hobbyist, they are easily $150 and up at the LFS (last couple I visisted and checked prices on, anyways). It was explained to me by someone at an LFS whom I respect. He said that the ones that were going for $40 - $60 or so last year were all collected from temperate waters, which was why there was a high mortatily rate, they easily bleached, and all of the other issues associated with a store bought RBTA. The ones coming in now are being collected from more tropical waters and are better suited for living in our warmer reef tanks. Something about the locale and collection methods make them more expensive. Now I will say that I have only recently become involved with BTAs at all, so I really now nothing of the history of them in the Bay Area over the last couple of years, neither for pricing or survival rates, only what I have been told by others. But since getting a green and then a red BTA ourselves (from fellow hobbyists) I started paying more attention at the LFS.

Well, that is what I heard, and this from someone I know and trust (and who does the ordering for the LFS he works at). Take it as you will :)

Nice red color in your RBTA by the way.. congrats :D

I was there yesterday too talking to Eddie. He told me that RBTA are not the one's from China..it's from Indo which is not the frequent splitting type. I guess it's really hard to compare to those common type of RBTA. Once again it really depends on how you see on the value.

The only thing which concerned me about that rose is that it didn't buble up at all, I thought it was probably duo to Eddie's light and water condition, will see if the one you got will evetually inflate with bubble tip after a week or so.
