what does it mean when the either tip or middle of the tentacle is really skinny? like part of it will be scrunched up and part wont??

Is it just one, or some in one area, or all of them? It may have been damaged in one area.

well it comes back after like 5 mins but i was just wondering what its doin, its just gets really skinny in one part and the bigger in other like sausage links kinda! looks like this (____)----(____________)
